It's worked for me, for over 35 years!
How do you ignore it when it's everywhere? On every ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ corner.
Nobody cares if you hate Christmas, they care if you whine and moan about Christmas. Because when you do so you ultimately just come off as a contrarian who is trying to drag other people down.
"Oh no the snowman holding a candy cane is triggering me"
Lmao I love Christmas.
Hard to explain. I used to hate Christmas with a passion, for all the usual reasons. Then about six years ago, I walked into a Wall Mart in early December. The trees and usual junk were everywhere, and a truly terrible "holiday song" was playing over the PA.
And suddenly, I just didn't care. In the slightest. Something in my attitude just changed I guess.
Don't get me wrong, I used to love hating it and debating it with others. But like so many other senseless and even damaging behaviors society chooses to engage in, it's less stressful to simply ignore it.
You're an atheist, right? Or at least anti-Christian? Well, uh , what did you expect? A socialist paradise? Everyone just gives each other everything all the time? The whole point is Christianity, which you have to adopt to be touched by in the first place. It doesn't work if you just try to take advantage of it.
I care as it applies mostly to me. Be thankful it apparently doesn't apply to you.
The guy is simply making some strong and poignant points.
If you think he"ultimately just come off as a contrarian who is trying to drag other people down" then that is your problem and shows you are pretty limited. Don't paste your thoughts onto others lad.

It has become just another commercialised holiday.
Read this, some historical facts about why we have Christmas in the form we do today and you will have some ammunition for those that say you have to love it.

One who is 'pagan' could argue that it takes a horrible person to counterfeit the sacred festivals of seasons while they know they are doing it.
Second, you forgot Mr. Grinch in your list of villains. If you don't like Christmas so much, why don't you steal it?
