I don't really listen to music, but I like the band logo for pink floyd (the prism) and don't recall the other, so I guess I vote for pink floyd.

Both can to a large part be considered psychedelic rock? But yes, having heard mostly every of both's songs, they are quite different.

Moody Blues have like what, a handful of hits? Pink Floyd you can pick at random and unless you end up with their final album, you got the goods.

Pink Floyd hands down. No one except like 40 people who lived back in the 60s know what Moody Blues is. Everyone knows what Pink Floyd is.

However, this thread has reminded me how much I enjoyed Moody Blues back in the day.

Had a friend in college who was a talented artist. When he got bored in big lecture classes, he would do pencil sketches of Moody Blues songs in his notebook. And we enjoyed the poem at the end of Knights in White Satin:

Breathe deep the gathering gloom
Watch lights fade from every room
Bed sitter people look back and lament
Another days useless energy spent
Impassioned lovers wrestle as one
Lonely man cries for love and has none
New mother picks up and suckles her son
Senior citizens wish they were young
Cold hearted orb that rules the night
Removes the colors from our sight
Red is gray and yellow white
But we decide which is right
And which is an illusion.

And we added our own two lines:

"Blind man stumbles and bumps his head,
