Let me see if I can find the problem.

Yep. There it it is.
"Can we fix it?"
No, it's ♥♥♥♥♥♥.
Hardly a disaster. It's PSSR problem and it's happening in only like 3 games. Obviously PSSR will be improved over time. DLSS had this same (similar) issue up until recently (2024) and was only fixed when RR was introduced and denoisers were improved. FSR has this same/similar issue still. What about all these other games that are looking 4K sharp while using PSSR and hitting high FPS. This only effects single digit % of games that were improved with the PS5 Pro.

Whether you like it or not; PS5 Pro = high end PC gaming.

Wasn't Alan Wake 2 said to be lower then 1080p on performance mode, and still does not stay locked at 60 FPS?

I could be misremembering this. But if that is the case, then no that is not a high end PC at all.

Games using 1440p resolution on PC and using DLSS "Quality" are internally rendered below 1080p. Games on PC with path tracing needs to use 1080p or less internal render + frame generation to hit above 60 FPS, and most of the time without frame gen FPS are dipping below 60 FPS.

AW2 is one of these games that are messed up on the PS5 Pro.
while other games are doing 1440p PSSR up to 4K and hitting 80-120 FPS.

When I boot up a game on the PS5 Pro except the few that have PSSR release day problems I don't feel like I'm getting a lesser experience then If I was playing it on the 4090. Everything looks Crispy "Fake" 4K clear and FPS is 60+ or within VRR range where you can't feel it. Differences between the 2 are not very apparent and require side by side comparison to find Waldo.
The Days of native 1440p-4K gaming are coming to an end and Upscaling + Frame Generation are where things are heading with the rise of ray/path tracing.

PS5 Pro = 5800x and RTX 4070 (not ultra high end but high end) as per steam PC spec statistics PS5 Pro simply destroys an overwhelming majority of steam Users PC's and can play modern games a lot better than the average PC. IMO anything below the xx80 NV GPU is not really going to give a much better gaming experience than PS5 Pro, and building ultra high end rigs every 2 years to keep up is not for everyone's wallet.
