I'm highly frustrated by this, like I dislike souls games for their dumb weird lore which I'm not interested in one bit, and yet I appreciate the gameplay and level design, if only this gameplay and level design was applied to a Castlevnia or Conan game ...oh man

a is owned by universal, p is owned by something obscure like the english version of Boom! or Marvel, and AvP is owned by vivendi. we're kind of lucky there are any AvP games.

I thought a lot of the last ones were? I guess they were just free roaming, not open world. Iirc there was a suit from spiderman over their use of energon grappling cables to get around for characters that had it, and that removed so much of their design that the idea was scrapped.

Jedi Power Battles? Disney's also still pushing the narrative that fighting games are inherently violent, since being REDACTED and also 'encouraging violence' are two bad looks that look bad together.

the level design and the simplistic yet satisfying gameplay...this is what makes the souls genre shine , but where they really mess up is the weird garbage lore and story, it's so bad to where you feel like it's pointless playing the game because you barely understand what is going on

We don´t need more time sequenced combat games.. we had enough of those during the 80´s and 90´s.
If you want to play it in conan style, then you can boot up Conan: The Mysteries of Time on your NES....


Most Castlevania games are already time sequenced combat (soulslike) just becuase Dark Souls want full nostalgia and mixed abit more modern style to it, does not change the outlayers..

If anything, we need less of these simplistic games and more cRPG centric games.
