No, thanks, I don't eat trash.
Just cook it yourself bruh, it's fairly cheap when you know what you put into your mouth, and actually it's really cheaper than a meal at McDonald's store if you want to.
250 gram butter : 3 euro
3 kilo kale, scredded 12 euro
1.2 kilo raw bacon (spekreepjes) : 14 euro
4 large dutch smoked sausages (350 gram each) : 14 euro
=>
peel potato.. toss in large pot with the kale.. fil with water and boil time done.
meanwhile fry your bacon in a dry pan (use fat of meat itself) till nice and crisp..
toss away water... add your bacon, with all the leaked out fat and your pack of butter and mash all together.
(may want to add a splash (50ml orso) of semi-skimmed milk to make it a bit more smooth..)
+ optional :
3 large onions 1 euro
another pack o 250 gram butter : 3 euro
-> chop the onions.. toss in pan with the butter.. till butter brown and onions caremilised.. this be your gravby..
will easely serve 8-12 large apeitite eaers...
each get a portion of the mash.. and a third or a halve smoked sausage...
if I put this at 10 portions than it is 50 eurot to make.. so 5 a person.
to feel as filled at mcD I would have to order 4 of their largest burgers, a large frie, 20 chicken nuggest.. and a large soda.. which would cost me easely 30 euro..
(ofcourse we would have to factor in the cost of the gas to heat the pan.. but per stove used.. cooking at highest setting costs about 50 cents an hour. this this will use 2 stoves and while unlikely to take an hour.. I grand you the 1 hour..)
your diswasjer would be full with the 2 pan, and 10 plantes.. + cutlery.. and uses about 90 cents in electricity and less than 1 cent in water per run.
so 2 euro in utilities (20 cents a meal) would be a HIGH estimate for the costs of that round of homecooking.
You used to be able to get a full bag of food for like 6 bucks. The same bag is probably 17-20 now.
not true.. I MUCH more enjoy a nice homecooked meal from fresh ingredients.. than those tasteless mcD things..
That's the McDs secret.
Nah, a homemade burger tastes better.
Fresh foods at Walmart were cheaper than now too. But even then, cooking at home can help me save up a lot.
even just your mom taking some ground mix it with 1 egg and 1 crumbled rusk.. and put it in this weird plastic make your own patty device my mum had (had 3 parts.. the ring.. and 2 sides... anyway..
to lazy for that? they sell fresh not frozen hamburger patties at your supermarket.. like 4 for 4 euro.. all beef.. even those from the actual butcher are maybe 1.25 or 1.50 each
toss one in a pan.. with butter... than she would fry some onions in butter.. use 2 slices of regulair brown whole wheat bread (the default option here in the netherlands) to soak up the fat.. in the pan.. put the patty.. onions and a squirt of catsup and another slice of bread.. that came out the toaster..
believe me even that simple cheap snack.. beats mcD 1000 fold..
once we were at floriade.. when I was 10.. (1992 floriade) and I was promised a mc donalds meal at end of day.. well.. boy was I dissatisfied when I got it.. i said this aint a hamburer this is 2 poffertjes with a plakje worst.
(hard to translate poffertjes but basicly they are very very tiny dutch pancakes.. and a plakje worst would translate as well a slice of bolony..
my opinion of mc has never improved since.. and I don't see the hype.. only the coconut milkshakes they had like in 1998 orso.. those were seriously good..
sadly that was only one summer alongside the haway burger with a slice of pinapple..
never seen again.
all times in my life I went to mcD I was basicly forced against my will by others
like when my ex gf wanted to go there.. or when I was with friends to see a movie.. and was outvoted by the group where to grab a bite before the movie..
I worked at McDonald's store once, and I was not sure when they washed the food trays and the warmers while it was opened 24 hours.
Either way I don't see why a person can't do both. Cooking at home is fine- but going to Mcdonalds is American tradition.
