If I ask for no bacon on my burger WHY is it not cheaper?
If you add bacon to any burger at Hungry Jacks it costs $2.50 more. So if I ask to NOT have bacon on my burger which normally comes with bacon WHY is it not $2.50 cheaper? Make it make sense!!!!!

Buy the burger that doesn't advertise bacon...?

Bacon is good. Therefore no bacon mean penalty.

Labor cost balances it out.

Bacon adds nothing to the burger when added so it should cost nothing to remove it.

You're complicating the order by asking for something extra to be done, so they'd rather just have you buy the burger that doesn't have bacon in the first place. Plus the rule of thumb is that the restaurant charges 5 times what the ingredients are worth, so the bacon only costs them 50 cents plus whatever it takes to cook it. It's not making that large of a difference to their bottom line if you decline the bacon.

Also, maybe they even assemble the burger with bacon, then throw the bacon away, but I wouldn't really know.

It costs the same with the bacon off because they don't think they can get away with charging $2.50 to remove the bacon.

Because the bacon isn't worth $2.50 and the price to add it is a scam.
They need to give a buttered corn cob on the side.

Corporations don't know this word: "cheaper".
Unless you're talking about their expenses.

You can ask them to only give you the beef patty itself, minus bread and everything else, and they will still charge the whole thing.

Fast food companies do not sell food by the individual components included, they sell food as a whole set.

But there are companies that will reduce the price as you remove items - and there are places that will charge more to remove items.

Why would they give it to you cheaper? They can just pocket the difference of not adding the bacon.

That doesn't make any sense. The burgers aren't premade. They don't don't put the bacon in and then take it out again. There's nothing extra to be done.

Capitalism. They do that because they can get away with it.

Well yeah. That much is obvious. I wasn't disputing that.
