Should I make a reddit account?
Sorry if this is too off topic but for like a few years now I have been thinking about making an account for reddit to ask questions for things that don't always fit into steam or other forums online that I might use(like literally one other, Microsoft's whatever the heck it is lol)

Like for example I could not afford stalker 2 and am trying it on gamepass, I got a free week luckily. I have been playing on my xbox, where its performance is lacking a bit and making my eyes hurt. My pc isn't the best but thought Id try it there to see if there was a difference. I wanted to find the exe for the game but MS like to hide there files for games and blah blah blah its something the average steam user may not care about.

So I could ask about it on reddit's stalker forums I have seen that sometimes show up when I look for answers on google. Thing is it seems very weird for new accounts there, like maybe you can't do much if your account is new. I saw some things about how there is like a thing to where you'd have to wait like 7 days to start being able to post on sub reddits. But also its apparently is different for different ones? Idk...

I don't really understand and certainly wouldn't mind a good explanation but also I don't know if its even worth doing because it seems like I may need to interact in various to build "karma" or watev that might also be a requirement to ask questions or post?

I DO NOT want to socialize with anyone like AT ALL. I just want to ask my question and get an answer and be on with my day. I might sometimes, in a theoretical response, socialize with someone answer one of my questions but I don't want to get an answer to my question and move on. Maybe its not that kinda place for just questions though idk. Should I even bother?

Sorry also I probably am way over thinking this ♥♥♥♥ and using far too many words lmao, but thanks legit if anyone might be willing to lend some advice on this?

In my experience I would say no.

It is my understanding, though, that all the channels there aren't run the same so expect different treatment depending on which forum you are on.

Honestly it works basically the same here as it does there. Each developer has control over their own game forum and are allowed to run it how they see fit (well, I'm sure that they have rules to follow on Steam as well).

I know for a fact on a few of the forums that the people running the page allow friends to run moderation there and will take the side of their friends over you regardless of if they are wrong. That was the reason I tried being on there a few times and left both times.

It stopped being worth the aggravation.
I found the AMD, Nvidia, and Intel subreddit's - the best for helping people.

Imagine getting dog piled or worst, banned for having the wrong opinion.

I got banned on Reddit for simply saying US Presidents are all stupid.

It does have some value unfortunately... I don't know of any other site which has so many subcommunities about all kinds of specific subjects. But it is aggressively leftist. It is woke paradise. The first thing it asks you, when you make an account, is what you identify as. Only recommended for wokies who need their "safe space".

Yeah, make an account, it's fine for asking questions or advice about things. I've only ever seen civil and mature posts there, which is probably why so many people on OT hate it. They get spanked for acting like a baby there.

Very ironic post. Even the whole voting system encourages immaturity, only serves to push groupthink to the forefront and hide "uncomfortable" content. I can always detect the redditors who come here as well, they use the award system to (try to) do the same.

Yeah, this is irrelevant to OP. He wants to know about where game files a stored, as in, he just wants to use the site to ask normal questions about normal things like a normal person. That's something you can't get your head around.

I'm referring to your claim of "maturity". But I guess you have a different concept of that than I do. An immature concept, I would say.

With your "that's something you can't get your head around". You call that mature? I don't.

Reddit is where you can get banned for saying evil hateful things like "young children should never be exposed to graphic sexual content"

That should tell you all you need to know. The answers to any questions you ask will often be blatantly incorrect information that pushes a certain narrative.

If you post actual, truthful, fact based information that goes against that narrative, you will be banned.

I don't care what people who never go outside think. In fact, I don't think you should even be allowed on the internet. You just hang around trying to interact with normal people and I don't like it.

Well, thanks for illustrating my point I guess. Obviously nothing you say about "maturity" is to be taken seriously. Bye.
