When you get tired find something to do.
If it's boring or tiresome or a drag, find something else.
It's great to wake up in a field of freshly-thawed spring grass.
It's extremely depressing to look at one while you're trying to fall asleep.
40+ yo after all still fit but in things like this I notice I aint 21yo anymore.. I still can party or skip sleep but boy the bill to pay the next day is so much worse now;)
when I was 21 I regulairly skipped a night (went 40 hr between sleep and sometimes longer. and still was fresh..
once even nearly 90 hrs without sleep.. and was fine...
I however ended it cause reality started to feel like a dream.. like that nothing you did would have consequenses.. awake felt more like a lucid dream at that point and that could get dangerous..
nowadays i can barely stay up 12 hours
hour 33-37 of CRPG had to end for me, because strange things were happening in the game and the clear delineation of perceptual reality was breaking down, and people were not having fun with it at all. like I started to view winning or losing a fight as an open desire, and supporting or rejecting that desire actuated the fight. I could affect nearby fights with known contenders too, and they'd get visibly frustrated by my meddling. with my mind. an entire team of noobs simply winning against the best players in the game, without my doing anything but watching from the siege line and imagining the fights and after-movements as they played out. when the main battle was won but the round didn't end in the typical timeline a couple people commented that it was taking so long because a few people found staircases or other areas the game code wouldn't render from where I was standing, so I couldn't see to affect.
and I convinced myself that this was "time to go to bed if you think such things," and I want to keep it that way. I'd had dreams like this; I did not like what happened. I did not want such a power, and still do not.
ever since I've had a psychological block. my psyche simply says "nope" and starts denying resources.
maybe I'm just nuts and it was 20 years of sleep deprivation catching up to me though, eh?
oh no red bull when I was younger.. oh no.. for me it was more early 20s.. college... all nighters blocking for exam.. full day work to pay for college right after... social visit to friends after.. that went late.. and by than pointless to go sleep 3 hours.. before church service.. so stay away.. than after church.. invided over to people for coffeee.. and thats how you stay easely 40hrs awake on nothing but shear will and coffeee..
but if today I go to bed a little late and only have 6 instead of 7 hours.. I feel terrible.. even if sometimes I do make it still 2 hour in the night if sitting at a fire with old friends.. before going home.. on a weekend.. so I can sleep in.. I still feel the effect 2 weeks later being tired.. wounds repairing slower etc... can't take the same punishment as I used to:)
could just be awake 40hr sleep 12-14hrs straight.. and be totally fine...
now.. any break from routine.. and the bill is due..
