wood already is the most versatile brick.
you can craft it into so many things..

scraped wood
logs
scraped logs
charcoal
planks
sticks
wooden tools
slabs
stairs
button
presure plate
boat
and so on..

but jungle wood can on top of that be used to grow cocoa on.

To be honest I really like the look of the normal clay-based bricks, even if they are harder to match with other materials.

I found this modpack with Diorite bricks- but it had a glitch so I recreated some of the sets it added in MCREATOR using the textures.

Probably dirt. Because dirt can be turned into mud, mud can be turned into clay or packed mud, which can be turned into either mud- or normal bricks.
