i want to be a game developer
I’m a young student currently balancing work and studies, but I’m fully committed to dedicating my time and energy to developing my game. Despite the challenges, I’m passionate about making this dream a reality and have set a goal to release the game between 2025 and 2026.

Right now, I don’t have enough money to publish my game on Steam, so I’m planning to release it on Itch.io first, or possibly GOG. Here’s some footage of my game game footage . Everything you see—except for the sounds—was created by me, as I haven’t yet learned how to make sound effects.

I’m in a difficult financial situation and lack the funds to fully realize my vision. However, I’m determined to keep going and would love to find a talented developer to collaborate with and help me improve the game. This is a deeply personal indie project that I’m incredibly passionate about.

The game puts players in the role of a police officer tasked with controlling protests and pickets by using various methods to repress protesters. It’s set in Argentina and features a strong political context infused with humor, memes, and feminist rage

I handle all the modeling and creative aspects of the game, but I’m looking for support with development, sound design, or even just constructive feedback. When the game is released, I plan to offer a free version with the same core gameplay as the paid version. The paid version will serve as more of a donation option, featuring extra levels and enemies. Any revenue generated will be shared equally with collaborators—I’ll give you 50% of the earnings.

This is my dream: to become a game developer and create experiences that resonate with people. If you’re interested in collaborating or supporting this project, I would be incredibly grateful. Let’s build something amazing together!

I also make games as a hobby and boy it is hard. Don't try to make something too ambitious at first. Just keep at it and your projects will get better.

It only cost 100 USD to publish on Steam, but they also take a % of sales.
If you can`t afford that, I would set up a Patreon account instead.

That is something i would not even consider buying, as i play games to escape it, not to be reminded of what the world has become.

Sounds like you need capital. Consider working a normal job while you build up your video game as a hobby. Then switch to full time gamedev if you either get hired, or if your video games starts earning you money.

i dont care much about money, my dream is to be game dev just a small comunity, money is second
Marketing is key. Sometimes you'll get lucky and have a streamer play your game without paying a dime, but you'll need to scrounge up cash to promote your game, otherwise no one will buy what they don't know about. But there are lots of indie games that do really well.

This is a good site to lookup revenue for games on Steam: https://vginsights.com/

Considering that you come across as a big baby sensitive wussie I would consider being in your block list a good thing. And I hope you add me to it as well. :steamdance:

If it don't make dollars, it don't make sense, but whatever floats your boat. If you can squeeze an opportunity to make a living off it, why not do it? You don't have $100 to publish on Steam, so it's clear you need money.

i care about money but most important is the game quality first then the money. i will try to get as much money as i can from the game, but i also dont like games like pay to win and too many season pass microtransaction
