You say, "imagine being a wageslave," I say: Imagine thinking that you're not just because your income source within the systemics that be are different. Just because you're sitting further away from Charon, does not mean that you're not in the same ferryboat as everyone else.

Why do those jobs pay so little? Especially when most of them really only pay 5 bucks.

Those jobs are a mix of jobs that just meet the mark. Some top out at that rate, but I imagine the majority could easily exceed that rate.

Most of those job titles are meaningless and are just titled "professionally" to make them feel better.

Job titles were more straight forward 10+ years ago to get you the first idea what it's about before reading the details.

The problem is that this list says 48k +. See the plus is the problem. Too large a group

It would be more interesting to see the below 48K group. Maybe restaurant workers.

I got triggered by this post and I will derail it a little bit because I am so ashamed of the Biden administration. In Montana people are living on the streets because they can't afford living with rents above 2500 per month and over because what not CEOs and filthy rich wall street execs are buying properties in Montana to turn it to hotels for tourism. This drove the price of property so much that local people living in Montana suddenly cannot afford to pay rent. This is real catastrophy playing right in the middle of America thanks to BIG SLEEP JOE

Supply and demand applies to jobs too.

I get it... But, why?

For instance, a Nurse would make a lot more than that in the US, provided they went into the typical tract that is. But, also, being a Nurse in the tract that would bring the highest returns is really hard work. It takes a good many years in that field to get the experience to get the positions that will relieve them of some of that, but still have an excellent salary.

IOW, what I was thinking was that a lot of the jobs listed have very high ceilings that would, or should, be considered as goals in typical job progression, that's all.

I don't have any problem with it as it's true as it is presented. I'm just saying... tons of those jobs have pretty high ceilings and those wages would definitely be minimums.

But, for some others... I'd think that salary/return would be kind of maxxed or at least very narrow.

"Tutor" for instance. That's pretty general. And, how many Tutors are making six figures? Probably not many, even though many of those jobs listed could be. How many are staying at that medium wage? Probably an overwhelming number of those Tutors.

I'm rambling, sorry. :) If one is picking a profession/job, one should look at the typical progression on the way to the "ceiling." After that, it's the "barrier for entry." There's relatively few things I could "tutor" in, so I probably shouldn't try to be a Tutor who has decades of experience in some subject worth tutoring others in. (Unless it's procrastination! I can Tutor in that, no problem. Just like... not right now, though. Maybe next week? If I'm free. Maybe... :))
