What is the worst (realistic) job you could ever have?

I feel like being a court bailiff sucks. The pay is pretty low (senior bailiffs in my town make around $15/hr). You stand there all day listening to court cases. Rarely ever having to actually do anything. You might get a few interesting cases now and then, but I'd imagine that most are uneventful. You can't mess around on your phone either or fall asleep either. So it's 8 hours of drudgery. Day in and day out.

I've sworn off customer service jobs since graduating college, but I'd sooner do that than be a court bailiff.

Any other jobs that just suck? Don't say garbage man. That job actually pays pretty well from what I've seen. Pays more than the bailiff and at least you're actually moving around and doing stuff. Not easy work, but I'd still prefer that over the bailiff.

I almost had a summer job handling and recycling industrial waste for Safety-Kleen.

I'm always glad I didn't take that job. I worked for warranty and service in an electronics factory that summer instead.

So the second worst job for me would be working in the sewers. For some reason cleaning fatbergs just doesn't appeal to me 💩

Working on an oil rig pays big bucks, but I imagine it gets quite miserable due to how intrusive it is for your life.

delivering advertisement flyers...
**unlike most jobs this pays per piece delivered... alowing them to vastly undercut minimumwage.. even if you are VERY fast and skilled you are lucky to make 3 euro an hour.. and more likely to get closer to 2 euro an hour..
(with normal minimumwage for adults being 15 euro an hour)
**to add insult to injury they also not register you to the taxman as most jobs do.. as it aint wage.. so you have to waste even more time reporting your earning to the taxagency.,. something that's quite a bother for those few measely earnings.

the work itself is also crap ofcourse.. they will just drop a huge pille of paper on sundays in front of your house.. and not tell how late.. you will be demanded to get it indoors asap.. for you are not allowed to deliver it that day and leaving it outdoors means it will get wet from the rain (it always rains in netherlands).. which ofcourse is not allowed.. and even if sunny.. you will get calls of police/neighbours if they see it outside to long (and ofcourse your name and phonenumber will be on the lable.. as well as the name of your delivery firm.. so theres always somebody to snitch on you if you go to the beach and leave it on the curb to monday when it's actually allowed to deliver them

than there is the delivering process.. a LOT of walking with a back breaking heavy amount of paper.... you can carry less but than you will walk more to get new supply.. fysical work sucks.,.
and fysical work in an urban area.. exposed to the elements.. even more so.

and ofcourse even than people WILL complain.. than their package was wet (well it rained when delivering.. cant help that) or wrinkled.... or late... (even if not.. but you deliver coupons that are valid monday - saturday IN the week they are valid.. you are allowed to deliver monday - wednesday.. but people getting theirs not on monday.. well they will call...and complains gets you marked down for a paycut regardless if valid)

I'd say it is one of the most crappy jobs you can have here....

3 other crappy jobs I used to do to pay for my studies..

***lawn maintenance..
-the work itself is fine.. I like plants and gardning.. the issue is the kind of people working in this kind of work.. they are the lowest iq people you can imagine... when I did this work as 14yo temp.. between all those people stuck doing that work for life.. it was a HORRIBLE experience.. me wanting to talk politics and philosophy and whatever else intelectual.. or geek.. their level never exceeding that of caveman.. exceeding laughing about farts.. and calling out every woman.. soo lowbrow and immature.. agonising people to be forced to work with.

**sticking chance on sigaret packages.
(basicly in a large hall.. insert packs of sigarets in a machine that would glue some coins on them than put them back in the boxes)
-> bars and suck only allowed you to put in a 5 guilder coin regardless what pack of sigs you bought.. so instead of installing software to manage change.. they glued the change on the packs depending on their price.. so that the machines themselves could be kept simple..)
-> I was paid well.. as adult.. despite being only 15.. which was 3 times youth minimumwage at that age.. but ofcourse that kind of assebly line work is terrible to do.. and again the compagny was TERRIBLE... totally braindead people..

yes being one of those people that calls you when you not want it to sell you crap you also not want.. I was even forced to sell german lottery tickers to dutch people..
at least more students worked there.. so while a lot of colegues were terrible.. at least with some I could have an intelectual conversation during breaks..
**the hatefull thing was ofcourse if your work is talking.. you hardly GET time to talk with colegueas while working.. which sucks!
**also never got any bonus.. despite being on top of the board of most amount of sales each shift. (the targets were namely based on 12 phonecalles per hour.. with 5 sales or more.
mose never made more than 3 sales.. i always had 7-10 sales... but I never made those 12 phonecalls...
pay without that bonus was rather crap...
but it was easy work to get.. and I really needed 700 euro to pay for next year college books.. I not stayed a day longer than I had to to pay for those books..

the irony is.. most crappy jobs also pay crappy..

our economy is flawd and does not pay based on how essential a job is to society.. (how much real value you add).. nor does it compensate in any way how discomfortable doing that job is..
it only looks to how many people can do that job vs how many people are needed for that job.

as most crappy jobs are simple.. basicly anybody with a primary school diploma or any highschool dropout can do them.. no experience needed either.. thus they can just pay crap.. knowing that theres always people so desperate to have no other choce but to swallow the ♥♥♥♥ for ♥♥♥♥ pay..

I mean sitting in an offce.. behind a desk.. in a nice suit.. where you drived to in a nice car.. with nice colegueas.. with nice cofeee.. is quite comfortable.. it is the ideal job.. and thus SHOULD pay minimumwage...

while wiping elderly peoples behinds... is a crap job.. and should pay a lot better..

and delivering newspapers or indeed working on sewers is even crappier and should pay even more than that...

but thats not how it works.. and thats why getting a degree is so vital.. you get paid more for doing something thats actually less worse to do..

if people indeed all were given a brainimplant with all human knowledge.. alowing them to all being able to do ALL jobs.. THAN you see the crappy jobs being paid a fortune.. but thats not the world we live in..
