South Korea , seriously?
Just came to know that in South Korea, in you want to go for an interview (be it a government or a private position) you have to submit your picture, and 3/5th of the chances of getting an “interview” call depends upon your looks, so does the selection for the post.

Read a post on Reddit as well, that an Anglo-Korean girl who moved from the uk to get settled in Korea, used to get rejected because she didn’t look good(and the job position wasn’t related to looks at all, like it was something backend type)
And ultimately she moved back to England.

Also I’ve heard that South Koreans get “plastic surgery” for gift when they graduate from their college(not sure if it’s true, saw a video about this on yt)

NO HATE TO NO ONE, I MEAN NO OFFENCE TO ANYBODY

What are your thoughts on lookism?

So that's why they look all the same. They have to do plastic surgery to get a job.

Culture of artificiality- another artificial society created by the US in its greedy, desperate and vein struggle for resources against China and Russia. Every single one of those job positions that can be done by a computer, will be done by a computer.

Would it be better if they asked your age or did a tarot reading?

thats super creepy. HR will ask deeply personal questions too, like your relationship with your parents and siblings, what occupations they do etc.

They don't dislike children. They are just worked to death for a minimum of 50 hours a week. Who even has time for romance and children at that point? Capitalism baby! Gotta make my boss money for a new yacht.

As a person who worked in SK for 15 years I can give some insight.

Looks are very important for Koreans. Plastic surgery in SK is a multi billion dollar industry. And yes, its very common to get plastic surgery as a gift after graduating from high school and/ or college. Its very, and I mean highly competitive there. When you are trying to get a job there, and when you send in your CV or resume you need to have a picture attached. If you don't look a certain way. Maybe your nose is too wide, or you are too dark the chance that you'll get a position is almost non-existent. Whitening cream is in almost all beauty items. in South Korea. I only ever saw a few older men with grey hair. They all color their hair. Old age, or getting old is frowned upon there.

They just do things differently there. You need to remember that after the Korean war, South Korea was a very poor country. They have a saying "BALI BALI" which means quick quick. Everything they do is fast. With America's help, it really is amazing just how quickly they were able to reach G13 or G20 status.

Ha. 50 hours is easy. Try 80 plus. I knew Koreans who were sleeping under the desk at work because it's a part of their culture. And, you will be shamed by other co workers or even fired by the boss for wanting to go home.

Have you ever been to SK?

I knew plenty of people in SK who had children.

Woke? Asian countries are very conservative. Women are also secondary, and don't have rights like the men do in SK. My principle in school I worked at, was working 60 plus hours. while pregnant. Its why IMO she lost her child. Too much stress, and women are encouraged to work while pregnant. When she had her other child, she put the baby in a baby bag that she attached to her back. She worked and taught while the baby was on her back.

Women have few rights, even in 2024, in South Korea.

No way, they don’t let you keep pets, use internet, live the way you want

infact during a food shortage time, their leader forced the civilians to give up their pets dogs, so that it can be used for meat to fill the country’s bellies !!
