Australian Government is going to ban Youtube and Online Gaming for Under 16s

This goes hand in hand with a misinformation bill they are trying to pass through the senate.

The Australian Government are trying to basically ban under 16s from any thing social from the internet including online games, you tube, social media platforms, even roblox, reddit and discord.
The only way to enforce this is requiring everyone to prove who they are with their real world identity.
They are also trying to stop VPNs as well from circumventing this.

It's not about kids, its about introducing a digital id they can link to your real world identity so if you post something critical about the current government they can track and fine or arrest you.

It is entirely a parents responsibility to control their kids social media and gaming, not the governments.

This is bad for every single person in Australia, left or right, young or old.

Its likely going to take international outrage to stop this.

To sign into the internet via ISP you need verification of identity so that all activity online can be regulated properly. No ID, No Log-In. That means under 16 also cannot log in without someone using their ID for them.

This I support. Parents don't do their jobs, someone has to pick up the slack.

This kind of measure the government is trying to-do is draconian and quite frankly scary and a massive overreach.

The government has no intention of doing this for the kids either, they are just using that excuse to literally monitor the entire country.

I think on some level governance can be justified to certain situations. Like Elsagate could have your government step and say "ain't no way youtube should be showing this stuff to children". Same goes with advertiser laws and how they are targeting children. So it's not like I think parents have to handle everything.

But like you said, Australia is being too draconian with this measure.

Business states no children allowed, someone says this is my service animal.
Someone states they treat it like a child.
Now service animal no longer allowed in business a satellite office is created for that function. Persons complains to government.
Government now begins to build satellite offices to cater to those needs.
Citizen complains to internet about what just happened.
Internet requests identification so it to can build satellite systems to monitor individuals in theire natural environment instead of sabotaging a business that cannot have child or animals of any kind inside.
Discussion ensues and specific satellite communication is interrupted and a dragon appears/

This is a fine line. Yes, minors should be restricted from the internet, but this is extreme.
If they can do this, what else can they do?

Where does one want the Government at this stage. Made up of children. Can vote, heir, anoint, cease at 12 and below any to be in charge. Now Black Widow would have that double speak of Banner asking if the whole place is surrounded and she would say basically yes yet on the sly its just her and him and not the kid that went out the window that are surrounded..
