Gate is by far the worst anime I've ever seen, I liked the concept but I was too angry that it focused on kaway desu girls instead of showing battle scenes between helicopters and flying creatures or whatever. The scene with the special forces of several countries about to fight and suddenly the 800-year-old girl ruins it all, it's an absolute piece of crap, I don't know how I managed to watch it, the worst thing is the king acting like he's got a plan when there's no damn plan, he reeks of rubbish, it makes no sense whatsoever! This is a tale of a young lad who wants to avenge his father that was killed by a one eyed man, so he goes on a journey, searching for evil people with one eye and fights each and every one of them. At one point he even fights a real tiger that has one eye LMFAO




as for the worst its some school romance thing with some eyepatch girl that had a blue hair, forgot the name, couldn't even last 5 minutes without wanting to end it all.

Worst? Probably Eden's Bowey. I wouldnt even suggest watching it, it's just boring.

Best...thats a tough one. off the top of my head? Madoka Magica, but ♥♥♥♥ me this isnt an easy chocie with FMA(2003), Freiren, and Iron Blooded Orphans on the table

wtf I liked GATE :(

The basic idea was great, modern army vs. fantasy army but the focus on the main character that I hate the guy talks about how he prefers to play video games that it's more important than his job while he's a elite soldier + he almost never plays these video games in the whole anime, and the kawaii girls desu instead of making a badass anime with fighter planes, helicopters and special forces vs. fantasy forces ruined everything.
The basic story ends up disappearing to make way for 100% girls in love with the magnificent Japanese soldiers, every second you are told how magnificent the Japanese army is sugoi sugoi, I have rarely seen such self-praise, all the female villagers want their them while they have massacred their men, they fantasize about them while the corpses of their husbands still rot in the meadows.
In episode 1 what is the point of this aimless invasion, the king from the beginning talks about a plan and in the end nothing, he just gives power to his busty daughter...
Humans in the fantasy world are supposed to be an empire when they are pathetic, how come the kingdom of mages didn't beat them up?
The funniest thing is the fact that Japan keeps the monopoly on the portal when in the real world the Americans would have taken control of it..

The girl who is 800 years old is the worst, UNBEARABLE

But it doesn't matter that you like this anime, it just means that we have different tastes.

the visual novel is much better. i read higurashi some time ago and recently umineko too. i'm not sure which one is better yet because umineko is really confusing about what is even happening

higurashi is a great mystery horror series but the anime cuts out a lot because the visual novel is really long, over 150+ hours in total

higurashi is a great mystery horror series but the anime cuts out a lot because the visual novel is really long, over 150+ hours in total

Nice. I would suggest Utuwarerumono as well. Similar situation, great anime that cut a bit of an insanely long visual novel

No, I don't agree, the anime is mediocre I think, it's watchable when you do the vn but otherwise I feel very sorry for those who saw the Higurashi anime before doing the vn, same for Umineko the anime versions are just bad I think because it's so cut that it's impossible to really understand what's happening, the vn or manga are much better
