please dont wish ill-well on other persons as it is very hard to find jobs and feed the family.

many japanese corporations are restructuring their companies.
a unit of sharp corp and sony corp even have a joint venture.
sega corp is no longer in hardware business and is now on gaming software development.

Apparently the pachinko business is booming enough that they can put their video game business on the back burners.
(and for some reason Steam things I spelled "pachinko" wrong...)

I know they are a private company, but I wish I could know how much of their business really is in pachinko machines. I mean, with Japan still pushing for gambling, pachinko being a legalized form of gambling (they have a neat way around the rule!), the cost of develpoing machines to sell being SIGNIFICANTLY lower than video game development, and the rising costs and hassles of triple A development, it would be almost insane for a company with a solid business out NOT to shift their focus to something with lower cost and stable return.

It's just smart business.
