DUBSTEP?

How can people listen to and enjoy Dubstep? I mean c'mon... The beats are repetitive and monotonous, the lyrics are god aweful... The sound is just irritating. I am seriously curious as to what makes Dubstep so appealing! It's like that episode of South Park when they are making fun of Dubstep by saying it sounds like $hit and they actually play $hit, poop and fart noises! Now I am not the guy who if your riding in my car and turn on some dubstep I quickly turn it off and give you a scolding... No, I let everyone who rides in my car listen to whatever it is that they enjoy... Even if I hate it! That includes dubstep. You would think I would love dubstep since I have an almost $5,000 stereo that sets off car alarms, makes dogs go crazy and gives old people heart attacks (literally... If you got a pace maker or have heart problems, don't be around my car when the stereo is turned up). I totally understand that people love their music and that music on my stereo always sounds better. I like to make people happy... It's what I do... So, when you ride in my car you get to listen to whatever it is you want to listen to (or watch... music videos)! Why dubstep though? Whenever I give my 14yr old neice and her boyfriend a ride, Jacob quickly grabs my phone goes straight to Spotify and puts on dubstep. In return, I crank up the stereo, watch his face light up like a candle when the bass hits and I shake my head in wonder. I'm 37yrs old and I happen to like just about everything when it comes to music (I'm actually a serious part time DJ... Check my profile) but I draw the line when it comes to basically 2 genres of music... Country and dubstep! Country I absolutely loathe, but I understand why people like it (and yes I let people listen to it as loud as they want in my ride). Dubstep I absolutely loathe, but I just can not understand what makes it so appealing! Sure... Good, deep sounding, really clear and crisp bass sounds great... As long as the beat is good. Dubstep does have good bass, I'll give it that, but the beat... Its always that same freaking beat slowed down or sped up! And some of those background noises... SO SCREECHY and ANOYING!!! So why? Why is dubstep so appealing? Please... Please help me understand.

Vey simple, people are different and like different kinds of music.
There is no secret reason why they like it, they just simply do.

dubstep is only good when its used as a joke in mlg montages
aside from that i hate it too most dubstep is just making random synth sounds and bass drops.

you know what sucks more than dubstep?
darkstep and chillstep
they both have really edgy names and listening to them is max cringe

There is a few chillstep songs that i remeber liking, but what the hell is ''darkstep''? xD

Dubstep is often lazily made and genuinely aggravating, it's hysterical how people can listen to that earrape sometimes.

What's so good about some guy singing in an ABACA sequence? Isn't that just repetition?

I personally listen to Progressive House and Chillstep which helps me concentrate on studying.

Not all dubstep is good, but all of it isn't bad either. It applies to almost anything, which there are both good and bad sides of.

The fact that people are still unable to comprehend the fact that people have preferences is ridiculous.
