You really think it's a bit? Just looks like a sad person looking for any reason that's not their own fault
If there was some tik tok thing whether women prefer bears or men, like someone mentioned - it´s already being the joke, or being the jester.
If You want to make a joke about that, with the intention to criticize that - You´re basically a counter jester, or someone who doesn´t understand humor / sarcasm / funny mockery.
Even more so when You´re basically against certain groups of people, without putting it in a funny way - and usually these kind of things only work if You understand these groups of people, while being reflective enough about Yourself, or other people. I mean it´s oftentimes hard to see irony in some text, even more so, when one doesn´t know the people, but a few people would probably get that something is meant ironic, even if i´m sometimes baffled that people don´t see it. The way You do certain "jokes" in this thread - is not funny. If You want to be a joker - You have room for improvement.
And any good jester is also able to laugh about themselves, because You can´t make jokes about others, while You´re unable to take a joke about Yourself - as it then means You don´t make the jokes for the sake of making jokes, or because You´re simply a funny guy who can´t take things seriously, but to blame others.
Like there are certainly ways to make jokes about woke people, or the left, or progressive people, or basically anybody - but just not the way You try to pull it off, because it doesn´t seem like You do it for fun, but because You´re against these people. Even more so, when it´s the same stuff all over again. Like these jokes work best if they´re done from a neutral perspective, and one is able to make jokes about any side. And this, even if the right is usually better in doing the propaganda stuff, is certainly a thing which the left does better, because it´s less one sided.
TL;DR:
So to be a good jester: there´s no way around it - You have to go woke.
Gameplay wise RE5 could use a massive rework since it was a survival horror that had it's elements of resource management completely undermined by multiplayer and replaying old chapters. Why fight any boss fairly when you can always go back to chapter 3-1 to pick up a free RPG?
RE5 was already incredibly serious. The boulder punching isn't what defines the tone of the game.
Also my issue with the gameplay is that the action and horror mechanics don't synergize with each other and it just makes the game fumble. For me, the game starts out very fun, but once the enemies start shooting back, that's when the fun starts to go away. From the inventory being suffocatingly small (who the ♥♥♥♥ thought it was a good idea to make body armor take up inventory space!?) to the garbage hack job'd cover system and more, it's an abysmal game to play towards the end of it.
God I ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hate RE5 so much.
"7 minutes is all the time I have to play"
"Complete global saturation!"
"The human race requires judgment!"
"Chris. I don't think of myself as a king. No, I am a god! And even kings bow to gods!"
Chris tells Wesker he's acting like a comic book villian. Which, I mean yeah, he was written that way. I guess maybe the problem is my wording. Instead of wording this as serious or unserious. I should have said RE5 is an unrealistic cheesey action hero story like the original RE4 was.
Wesker's god complex. him grabbing rockets mid-air. The fact that he beat up Chris and Sheva by throwing his sunglasses at them is bad ass, but also unrealistic. Chris has a lot of unrealistic action hero moments too. The finale taking place in a live volcano where Chris killed a boulder is where it peaked sure, but I think the game was pretty action hero heavy and unrealistic long before that moment.

Still, I get what you're saying. I haven't played the remake for 4 yet but from what I've seen, I personally am not gonna worry too much about the gameplay not at least being inspired by 5's spectacle. At least I don't think Leon parrying a chainsaw with a knife is terribly realistic either. But it is cool as hell.
Can't speak on the story, though.
If you think this sounds silly, then you're correct. It's a silly thing that for some reason became a big thing.
