If God "saved" Trump, why did the firefighter die?
I've heard people saying that God saved Trump from death.

But if God has the power to change the direction of the bullet and he did so in order to save Trump, why did he allow the bullet to kill that firefighter? Is this in line with the religious teaching that all life is equally valuable and everyone is born equal? Is Trump's life more valuable to God than the firefighter's life?

I'm also wondering, how does the family and relatives of the firefighter react to all of those people who say that God saved Trump?
Isn't it kind of offensive to say that?

What do you think?

I'm not religious, so not God. Luck is just a term we put on unlikely, but possible, events with a positive outcome (like someone surviving assassinations). Far stranger things happen daily to good and bad people alike. Fidel Castro was very lucky... or God really was on his side.

Luck is not really a sign of a divine favor.

My goodness it is ...!

Loki!
That is where Luck comes from!
your teachers must have dreaded you people coming to school.

The concept and idea of Luck predates Norse Mythology by thousands of years.
Try again. :P

Saying that people calling it Luck are meaning Loki is involved makes no sense.
The Asatru are not a large group any more. :P

Does me not liking Trump automatically mean that I want him dead or wish for his death?
Is this your argument?

Does every person who dislike Trump want him dead, in your view?

This is 100% an accusation from your part.

Then whatever float your boat pal.

Lucky comes from Loki.

As Fortune / Fortunate comes from the Fortuna.

I'm not sure how to interpret your response. I'm not religious, so from my point of view, luck is just what we call unlikely stuff. It doesn't really need a source.

Also, my teachers really liked me, even the ones I would argue with over the material they taught. Don't know why. I was lucky, I guess.

As Fortune / Fortunate comes from the Fortuna.

So, you're just going to ignore that the concept of Luck has been around since at the very least, the Fates of Greek Mythology?
Bold take.

I don't care who came up with the name Luck.
If I had to get into a discussion on the history of words, I'd bring up all the weird ones first.

Come up with another word for it, if you do not want to be using Norse Loki.
Trump survived through sheer luck, but it shouldn't have happened at all and is solely a product of the sheer incompetence of the secret service. The firefighter died as a result of said incompetence, as the shooter shouldn't have been there in the first place.

That being said, the blame for all of this still rests entirely on the nutjob who pulled the trigger.

Sorry, but that's not how words work.
Good grief.
Why be hostile?

Nah, I disagree, but whatever. If someone believes in God, it makes sense they would attribute luck to God, I'm not saying otherwise. I'm answering from my perspective.

Plus I don't like Trump, so I guess I have my own bias as well.

Then don't be saying it is to do with Loki.
Again, stop bringing Loki into this, or I'll have no choice but to summon the God of Mischief himself to talk to you directly. Explaining that he did not invent the word Luck.

And that the concept of Luck predates North Mythology.

And no, Loki will not look like the one from the MCU.

He'll also bring his half-alive/half-dead daughter Hela to strongly talk some sense into you as well. :P

Lucky comes from Loki.

No. No it doesn't.

Luck and Loki are not cognate. The roots and meanings between the High German root for luck and the Old Norse for Loki mean entirely different things.

Law of Manifestation is a thing.

yeah as long as god's attention span holds out while he's manifesting his loose recollections of what you asked for.
