Even so, even in the case of it being worth something to a collector, it still usually takes years and lots of effort to sell it. Because first you have to FIND those collectors: while there may be some demand for the item, that demand itself is rare (and often unstable or prone to collector whimsy). Then you have to vet them and wait while they vet you... (They'll almost always manufacture some "issue" at this stage to try to fabricate a bargaining chip for price). Then you have to both contact the official registry that does the validation and wait for validation.
Fairly good reason honestly to just go to a pawn guy and get half instead, way less time and work.
the big money is in major errors like fold-overs.
