Microsoft lays off its DEI team

Microsoft sparked internal revolt after it fired its diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) team, leading the program's leader to slam the company's 'changing business needs.'

The tech giant's move was exposed in an email obtained by Business Insider, which appears to show the DEI internal team leader criticizing the fact diversity was 'no longer business critical.'

Microsoft joins a number of tech companies in walking back DEI commitments that were made in the wake of the Black Lives Matter protests in 2020, including Google, Meta and Zoom.

But according to the reported email leak, the former DEI team leader felt the company had quietly given up on the DEI initiatives it pushed during the BLM protests.

This included spending $150 million on DEI programs, and mandating training on racial allyship and privilege for all non-Black employees.

CEO Satya Nadella previously insisted such moves would not be a 'one-time event.'

However, the email reportedly scathed how in the time since, 'true systems-change work associated with DEI programs everywhere are no longer business critical or smart as they were in 2020.'

Finally, back to just hiring the most suitable person for a job. Back to meritocracy.

My company has a DEI team and the entire company has gone full DEI all over the homepage the employee's view. It's very crazy. I think it's important too, but man, it's not like a company's central identity. It oversteps so much.

It started off with a coworker that would help small businesses make bids with our company. This made a lot of sense because larger more established businesses new the process. So this company would help people that experienced systemic racism gain the knowledge other businesses had gained. I thought this was an admirable goal.

But then it got full blown crazy in goals. And further, I'm sitting here in most meetings and I'm literally the only white male. And every promotion I get has to be very thoroughly vetted much more than other people. I have to be leaps and bounds better than others because if I get a promotion, I'm throwing off some DEI balance.

But something else has saved me... being a vet. Vet trumps Race.

You mean hiring people to fill a quota based on factors completely irrelevant to merit backfired?

No, because you still have to worry about BRIDGE. Which is about sneakily embedding this ♥♥♥♥ into companies and making it part of the corporate culture.

And is in pretty much everything corporate, not just video games. Campbells, Heinz, Red Baron, Palmolive, the companies responsible for these brands are just a few who are complicit in this treason against not just mankind but the world writ large.

Plus when in doubt firing the HR departments and what not just results in them embedding themselves into another company, thus continuing the cycle.

Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. Or in other words, the sanctioned sort of racism that these progressives so-called are down with entwined with the subversion of culture and the destruction of all that you hold dear.

Ah, seems like the ESG money isn't enough anymore to cover the losses and damages caused by the DEI agenda.

Good.

I like the hard accuracy of this interpretation, but nothing beats the good old fashioned Didn't Earn It.

I am on the spectrum which Asperger's used to occupy until revisions to the DSM saw fit to remove that diagnosis for both profit and propagandistic purposes. Then again, pretty much everything everyone uses today is the end result of Operation Paperclip. Probably doesn't help that Hans Asperger stated that the "little professors" would be "useful".

Or in other words, that happens. Doubly so when I've had my gabbies.

It's just fundamentally stupid. Yes, there should be incentives to hire people with disabilities and whatnot; but in Canada, women have no place on the "disabilities" page. It's just ridiculous now. It's like people match extremism with counter-extremism and then call it equality

A lot of times these types don't want equality, they want special treatment. Because under a meritocracy - which is as close to equality as you can get given that it's a social construct to begin with - they cannot rise to the top even if they're born with a silver spoon in their mouth.

And so like losers tend to be want to do, they demand to given that which they have not earned.

That's a strange over-generalisation... Originally, the point of DEI was to eliminate hiring biases, which is something that needs to be done. However, the way it was implemented strictly incentivized companies to end up hiring people based on outside factors instead of merit because otherwise, they'd be punished. This ultimately backfired and created more stigma, because oftentimes, people were hired based on their melanin, disability, sexual orientation or plain sex instead of their actual qualifications to fulfil the job's requirements.

They need to do it in a way where companies have an incentive; not where they'll be penalised for not having enough black, gay, quadriplegic people.

It was never about eliminating bias, it was about perpetuating the "correct" kind of bias. Because these types have an agenda and DEI is just part of that. So is BRIDGE and whatever they will in turn replace that with given that people have already caught wind of it.

Thank you, spicy cat, very cool.

That being said, no it's not a over-generalization. It's the gist of their modus operandi. Also, if people want companies to be meritocratic - or universities for that matter - then by all means implement blind admissions and blind resumes.

They won't, as that would prove the point about them not wanting equality and not wanting meritocracy. Because they don't care about what people can do, they only care about what people are. They wear their blatant bigotry as some kind of virtue.

They sicken me to my very core, the degenerates.
