That's the point. If what a company is doing is so important, then people take an interest in the mindsets of those running the show.

Different kind of important. If SpaceX fails the worst that happens is that its competitors fail and nobody tries again, which is unlikely. Not the same as being in charge of for example getting a water treatment plant up and running for a city or a power station. Or building a dam.

Unless you mean in terms of competence, in which case Elon has already proven himself.

Because in recent years that is mostly what you can see from him.
Back when he was known mostly for spacex, tesla and maybe paypal only people interested in space flight knew about him.
His own media presence was all about that.
Today he rarely engages with that stuff. Most of his public motivations are political.

Im a huge space nerd, I wouldnt call myself a fan of space ex, but I followed its development very closely long before starship even was on a paper.
It was a nicer time. I cant stand Elon today, he either went insane or was all along. But back in the we just didnt see. He was fully focues on doing space x and tesla.

Artemis, let alone the people behind it are much less known and there are most likely a few people with character flaws or weird politcal views, but they dont go public whhich is why all we can talk about there is the artemis program. Alot of people probably dont even know, Artemis IS currently the strongest rocket. Its first test was a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ trip to the moon. Meanwhile elon blows up rocket after rocket and everybody talks about it.

They’re not failing. Quit reading the media, used ev sales are at the highest right now. You can get excellent cars at a fraction of the cost of them new.

This. There are many choices now. That are better than Tesla. Tesla has fallen behind.

I don’t think Tesla has fallen behind I still think they have one of the best electric cars for the price.

I just bought a 2020 model 3 45k miles for $19,500 (after 5000 credit)
Still has 4 years of battery warranty left and 1 year of bumper to bumper.

I tried really hard to find a similar car for the same price but couldn’t. Now better options at a higher price? Maybe but not for under 20 grand
