People just want to produce clickbait to get views. To be fair, they're not wrong for doing so, since the vast majority of gamers don't actually want quality content and discussion about gaming, but low hanging fruit that doesn't make them think very hard.

Yes and you're basically proving it. I don't mean that as an insult, but people would rather talk about the latest scandal from x,y,z in gaming than actually qualitatively discuss and debate about the games themselves because the latter requires more thought and is more specialized.
