The issue is that most people want it to be like the classical Grimm brothers depiction.

Not very long after she had a daughter, with a skin as white as snow, lips as red as blood, and hair as black as ebony, and she was named Snow-white.

Personally I don´t care and there have been so many other books, movies, paintings, etc etc.. where the art is different, either more modern or provocative.. its all about artistic freedom.
The story is also altered, not just a tad, but a lot.. so but that is classic Disney, so nothing weird about that.

I don´t particular want to watch modern Disney anyway, because I am not a teenage girl.

The prince was so creepy in the original movie, lol
