In the States most all Amazon orders charge shipping unless the merchandise is small/cheap/in a local dist. center or when the customer is a Prime subscription member.
Hunh . . I didn't know Amazon gave Europeans free shipping without a subscription . . must be nice.
Ummmm No. In the USA there is free shipping for orders over $35. No subscription needed. As Augnihr just said.
Bunhgner said 35 euro . . . equal to $35 or typo?
I'll have to check and see if it applies to all the big stuff like the metal crate I purchased.
It's $35 here in Canada too. Amazon's free shipping threshold isn't equivalent across currencies.
Does not make any sense.
Contracts with shippers and ensuring to increase your basket size. Free shipping typically makes you spend more to meet the threshold.
Just as even with Prime, if you spend $25 you can get same day free delivery for grocery items.
I meant Why Amazon provides the free games. I get why they provide shipping if you spend a fortune.
They want people to sign up for Prime. It is 99% free profit for them. And the games can't be played if you drop the subscription. Same as Xbox or PS subscriptions.
Ohhh -- That's the catch; so the games have some protection to prevent playing whateva game after dropping subscription? Nasty indian-givers.
No. You can still play all games you've received even without a subscription.
Checked right now, and for example you can get Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition and Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic...on Amazon's game launcher.
I've noticed when I talk about a movie on Twitch, I'll get it recommended on Prime Video. So, besides the subscription cost, I think the other catch is your data.
You also get a free Twitch Subscription to a streamer every month. It still tosses them the money too so I just toss it at the one streamer duo I listen to while gaming. If I'm not watching them, I'll toss it to Critical Role or something.
It's just short for "Free with your subscription." No one thinks it's just free so pointing it out is just like being that guy that's TOTALLY fun at parties.
I don't know about your place, "Amazon Prime" is around €90 per year here. Which means I don't have it.
