Would medieval armor help in a zombie horde?
Say you're being swarmed, would it make any difference or would you wanna be nimble?

I'd take a chainmail coif...
Chainmail would be perfect for a zombie horde.
It really doesn't slow you down that much, although it will tire you out faster.
A rubber wetsuit would be lighter, and still help protect from bites, but then you might be risking heatstroke.
Well, human teeth can't bite through steel. They can't bite through denim or thick leather either so you're probably better off with those.

you don't think a zombie could bite through a rubber wetsuit?

Yes you'll be well protected and mobile. Those zombies aren't chewing through that armor nor are they outrunning you.

they only really need to find one spot to bite tho... if you get bogged down and swarmed you're dead.

I'll take the coif for surprise neck strikes tho.

no they can just grab onto you and pull you down. even if they bumble into you in a pile, chances are you aren't strong enough to displace 500lbs of zombie (literally 5 rail-thin zombie midgets) plus whatever you're wearing. So once they drag you down, you're stuck there until you starve.

I'd avoid chain because it'd get caught on things like fence nails or chain fence links.

I don't think a leather aventail would stop a full-on 600lb of massiter muscle bite, but it would be good for the occasional scratch. And if it's a collar they might just gnash on the collar instead, which would be safe(r) with a secondary scratch-resistant under-layer. I think most hardened leather would provide a decent barrier otherwise.

But, full leather suits are basically a renaissance+ invention.

You going to weigh about 50 pounds more wearing armor, not a whole lot different from the modern military. A fit guy it will not slow you down to much initially, but you'd have to worry about ventilation in a full suit of armor.

There is a pretty good chance you could walk away from a encounter of three or 4 zombies, but anymore the odds are your going to join the horde.

yes realistically human bit cant break plate armor, our teeth going to break before if we bit too strongly or our jaw going to break before

now if you talk about fiction zombies it is another story

zombie are supposed to be too dumb to use their brain to know where to bit, we never see zombie take time to remove clothe and protection from their victim and mostly they prefer to hit instead to try to turn the knob

I'm pretty sure there was a zombie shark movie at some point, i mean Sharknado exist so anything goes.
come to think of it if you fell down and a zombie stood on you the armor might start to crumple.

if a zombie falls on you its head is going to be about neck height. the bite is basically reflexive, from them falling on you.

Depends in the horde numbers, if say is 100 or so zombies, probably low chances of survival but better than 0% with no armor. If it's 1000 or more zombies it's ggwp for them.
