I dunno what you're looking at but the link I posted has them anywhere from $1 and some change apiece to $12 apiece, depending on the brand and color. For the cheaper ones, you have to buy like four or so at once, which brings it up to like $5.

Must be because I'm in Canada and would have to ship them from far away. Still pricier than the normal ones and it'd imaging they need a special process to create which cannot be as easily done in a simple key cutting machine.

I guarantee you the coin-op (er... card-op) machines are loaded with premade keys and not forged inside the machine itself.

I got a solid red house key at lowes for 6.99. But after a while the paint starts to chip off to the brass key underneath.

So I took a closer look and it turns out, this machine does have two solid-color options, both of which you have to actually scan and wait for them to deliver it. Why only two, I know not. Seems if they were producing them off-site, they could choose any colors they want.

The two plain keys are $9, the solid colors like all the other color ones, are $14.

The colors are lame AF too. Sky blue is one, which, ok I guess. But the other one is literally gray. Like, not only is that the worst color anyway, it's also a flat variant of THE COLOR KEYS ALREADY ARE.
