Having owned the SNES and PS1 versions; yeah, I know.

It's Langrisser 1 in this combo.
Or you can play the Warsong version. I prefer the Warsong version because the remaster looks like a mobile game.
Yes I know I've played both. You seem confused. I never said they are the same game.
But Ogre Battle 64 doesn't have the card game like the SNES version does. They both have similar gameplay other than that.
* I also mentioned Unicorn Overlord in post #20 of this thread. lol
Adventure platformer.
Beyond Oasis is a pretty by-the-book action adventure
Altered Beast and Comix Zone are pretty by-the-book beatemups
Earthbound is a pretty by-the-book JRPG
I suppose it was nontraditional at the time, but these days there are more games like it.
I guess where I'm clarifying is where you keep saying version and oddly focusing on something much more minor to both games than a lot of the other content differences between the games.
To me, it seems like you dabbled at looking into the games, but didn't play very much of them. Which is fine... I'm just clarifying.
They aren't different versions. They are different games.
You wouldn't say Zelda 2 is a different version of Zelda 1. It's a different game.
I don't know why you're hung up on this. I put a lot of hours into both.
The card game is the biggest difference between the two. Both have you fighting for towns on a map. Both let you create units and change formations. Both even have a lot of the same types of units.
Both have Ogres and fruit of the netherworld and a story about corrupt people who pursue power by any means.
What else would you say is the biggest difference?
I'm thinking... THE TAROT CARDS it's present in one and not the other. I just mentioned it because I missed it back when I played Ogre Battle 64. I was sad they removed it.
SNES......Chuck Rock......Equinox the second game of solstice from the NES......metal warriors.....the legend of the mystical ninja......
some are platformers but they are weird takes......
also it's not console, but SimAnt was a very unique old pc game
EDIT: NVM it is on SNES apparently lol
another opportunity to plug for crosscode
The remake is on Steam, too.
