Can't Believe the Number of Blocks I've Made

Lately, I've had to block tons of people. Normally, I'm of the opinion that disagreement is fine. If I don't like you? Whatever.

But tons of people are spamming the forum with utter and complete nonsense. It's blatant trolling and gaslighting. Bumping ancient threads. It is chaos.

There's a handful of people that want it to be this way. They've been raging since the old mods were removed. Simply because they constantly broke the rules and got away with it. Just follow the rules. Then you wouldn't need 10 alts.

I have found that it takes 3 or 4 attempts to get past the Steam "Support" Bots and get in touch with a real human being, not that it is much help to do so.

I didn’t realize just how many accounts frequent this place until I began blocking the political threads.

I assumed that all of them were made by the same handful of people - say, 10-12 maybe?

I’m up to about 75 accounts and counting. It’s insane how many people are making these types of threads.

Never saw any point in blocking people. Sometimes people say stupid stuff. Even I do. Who cares?

But why make a forum thread about it?
There is not really much to debate about then padding you on the head for finding the block button.

This is more suited as a blog in my opinion.

I've only been able to get through to a real person a few times. Every other time has been copy/paste generic responses.

A guy claimed to have no alts. Then I posted links to his alts. They called this "name & shame". Ridiculous.

Rules say you can't create alts to evade bans. But apparently the real problem was me pointing it out.

I'm up to almost 400. Perhaps I spend too much time here?

The vast majority of those accounts don't even post anymore.

I can agree there. Steam should introduce an archiving feature for threads that go without new comments for a long time. It always causes annoyance and confusion for people who see it and think the thread is current information and for the people who commented before it was necroed and now are all getting notifications for a random comment they made 8 years ago when they were still in high school.

I used to. Wanted to give everyone a chance. Because I'm open minded. But if you can't be bothered with punctuation or logic? I ain't got time for that.
