I watched a bunch of crows hunt a flock of pigeons, once. They were ruthless.

Some anon ornithologist perked up online and tole me I was lying and that it wasn't part of their behavior set.

Since then, I've noticed plenty of instances of crows murdering the crap out of and eating other birds.

Many herbivores are opportunistic carnivores. That infamous vid of a horse gobbling up a young chicken is easy proof of that. Most will also do things like scavenge bones, driven by their calcium calue.

PS: I have a couple of colonies/warrens/whatever of chipmunks in my yard. They're are pretty cool. :)

I've seen crows fighting and then a raptor swoops in to break it up, because it was trying to roost and they were being noisy.
