Why would a country dependent on tourism mistreat the people who vacation there?

For the same reasons Japan is making restrictions on tourists : bad behavior and lack of education. That does not excuse the video, but ther's no smoke without a fire.

British people need to wake up and stop going to Spain on holidays. Its caused social and economic problems and they dont appreciate it. Millions go to Spain every year. When Britain was great the people would holiday at home and it gave rise to beautiful sea side towns. When they left these places were abandoned. The people fell into decline and the areas never recovered.


And Spain boomed... Fuelled by British tourism Spain built up on many dry arid areas purely on tourism. Had they an ounce of patriotism they would spend the money at home. Theres four nations for god sake! You havent seen them all but you seen all of Majorca and Ibiza.


We should put on a minimum tariff for every external flight during summer and charge £100 per head. And invest it into these areas and thier local NHS.

But also because there are more tourists. I mean many people struggle with their income, but a good bunch does not, so some spots are overcrowded, and the locals still have their normal work day schedule. Like in some areas the locals can´t even really go anywhere - or are advised to stay home at certain times. This is not only Spain, also certain movie locations, or Amsterdam, etc. - even if perhaps not with these kind of protests.

I would even propose a limit on holidays. As in how many times can a person or family go on holiday. Is it moral that a poor family who can not afford to go on holiday isnt compensated for thier lack of pollution? As in green credits that Taylor Swift buys to offset her billion air miles per year.


Why should a rich family be allowed to pollute some holiday constantly and others even a middle upper class family can do it three times a year.. How is that fair? Tax them for global warming.

I might have visited Mallorca in my life if it wasn't for the the hordes of drunk, disrespectful Germans (primarily young men) partying their last braincells into oblivion. They are a scourge and I am saying that as a German.
