Does anyone actually like cooking with electric?
I mean, I only use electric if it's what's available but my preference is always open flame cooking.

Does anyone actually prefer electric? If so... why?

Yes, because I don't like the smell of gas.

It's hard to get a nice crust in a gas oven.

I prefer cookin' with gas, but electric is fine in my opinion. It gets hot too.

My dad thinks our air fryer is quite healthy, But unhealthy food is still unhealthy no matter how it's cooked imo.

Yeah, cause if I forget to turn it off it's not going to explode or set anything alight

My biggest issue with electric is that it's either On or Off, there's no inbetween. "Medium heat" for an electric stove is just turning the burner on and off repeatedly.

With flame you can actually set the heat.

I prefer gas (for the exact reason Chaosolous stated), but my local natural gas provider is terrible.

Has anyone here cooked with induction burners? I'm considering buying one to use with my wok but I'm not sure if they're just an on/off element like conventional or IR electric stove elements.

I press a button and it works. And it can't explode because its just electricity

I prefer it to making a log fire

No, that's not true. Turn the lights off and set an electric eye to low. You won't even see it glow. Turn it up to medium, now it's a little red. Turn it up to high: VERY red!

It's called Resistance Heating.

Click-on... click-off... then wait for it.... wait for it... click-on... click-off

Because you can install electric ovens yourself, gas needs someone to come out and fit it for you.

Though we can get outdoor, propane fueled ranges.
