The Xbox S/X controller can be used both wired, as well as wireless.
(If you plug a cable, batteries are not necessary.
But if you want to use it wireless then batteries are needed.)
8bitdo makes the best PC controllers.
Also, the Steelseries Stratus Duo and SCUF Envision feel great in the hands, although the software support is either nonexistent or complete garbage.
