i have started skipping dialogue in games now
i went from playing games on the easiest settings since i want to feel like a god and have fun blasting through games with no challenge to skipping dialogue in games. most games storys are cringe or boring and not worth your time unless it actually means something.

the only game dialogues that i think you legit can't skip is rpgs but even with rpgs you can just choose your answer and skip the talking which works well but same time rpgs are known for their stories and lack gameplay compared to say dying light 2 which forces a rpg system with choices that don't matter compared to cyberppunk 2077.

i low key bored of stories man, ether do them right or don't bother and focues on improve your games gameplay like what borderlands do. borderlands shows that the story does not matter and as long as they improve the gameplay people will still play the game

It's like buying a book to put in on shelf and say you read it, you just skipped through all the pages...

or you know its like a anime and you simple skip the boring parts/fillers and go straight to the action? a book you can't really skip anything but i bet you prob can skip some parts.

I always skip the story blurb by skim-reading.

If I want to know the story I'll play the game and find out.

All those games that have 'lore' bore me to tears and never play 'em.

Very few games manage to come up with writing that's so exceptionally bad that I'm skipping dialogue. Writing might play a role in getting a thumb-down, but I generally still read/listen to it.

So, in other words, you're a member of the Tiktok generation?
Attention span of six seconds, and just scroll to the next topic, laugh at the flashing lights and funny sounds, and then swipe onwards?

you watch a lets play to see what the game is about and if its worth the money or if you don't want to buy the game and just watch it instead. watching someone play a game is very niche and only has a specific reason to do so.

i rather play the games myself and just enjoy the juicy bits not the rotten chunks just how people prefer a good wagyu steak and not the whole cow.

i am allergic to grass and other organic things in nature thus even allergic to most fruits and veggies cause of pollen. i am legit forced to be indoors so i don't die from a athema attack or other failures or simply have a discommfert from being outside :).

i use to play soccer as a kid and had massive rashes all over my body and sometimes would wheeze from my allergy to grass or pollien in the air during spring time.

I often play games on the hardest settings and have found myself playing games I wish I could make more challenging. For example, Metal Gear Sold 2 and 3 isn't challenging enough on European Extreme, so I had to also limit myself to non lethal only and my next playthrough might just be CQC/knife only.
