Cast Iron pans

A number of years ago I threw away about 4 cast Irons saucepans given to me by a friend whose parents use to own them

I've regretted it ever since.

Now I use (worn-in) aluminium pans of mainly the frying variety.

The cast iron pans were heavy-bottomed and allowed heat to be regulated more precisely.

I have cast iron pizza stones. And cast iron slabs for the grill. I agree, cast iron is da sh!t. Concentrated heat.

If you have a high flame, it helps too. I have a wok burner and with a cast iron it does wonders.

Cast iron bathtubs are also the best.

My oven is broken and my hob is average. Sadly any cooking I do these days is in a (round) Ninja and a Tefal 'Dual easy fry' (2 drawer) Air Fryer.

Works well but lacks soul.

heavy but much better 4 your health than aluminum or scratched teflon, iron particles will never hurt you

Cast Iron is good for searing. It's how I prefer my steaks cooked.

It's the iron itself that makes it taste better.
I only own cast iron and steel. None of that toxic non-stick nonsense.
