No More Mexican Pizza at Taco Bell
They discontinued the Meximelt years ago. And that sucked.
My mother loved their Taco Salad which was discontinued. And she said that sucks.
They no longer carry Dr.Pepper (because I guess it's owned by Coke and not Pepsi now).
That really sucks.

But now the Mexican Pizza?!? Taco Bell corporate sucks.

** Also, let's not forget that they haven't served green onions at Taco Bell since the bad/diseased batch of green onions that struck one specific area of the nation.

why should something with "taco" in its name offer mexican food wtf

Because the genius marketers at Taco Bell corporate in Irvine CA are truly witty and probably thought it would be more appetizing-sounding and easier for John & Jane Q. Public to order versus a "double-decker cheesy bean & beef crispy tortilla".
Taco Bell hasn't been the same since they got rid of the two most delicious items they ever had; the Chilito and the Strawberry Frutista.

The chilito? Their chili cheese burrito? That was all right. I always prefer the encharito. The enchilada burrito. But they haven't had that thing for like a decade now.
I haven't eaten Taco Bell for about 5-10 years, but their taco salads were great.

I vaguely remember the Chilito (chili bean & cheese burrito). Another one they nixed ages ago was the cardboard cup of chili beans & cheese (no tortilla).

I stay away from fruity drinks mostly and opt for a 21st century kale and quinoa smoothie (j/k).

I actually found one Taco Bell that still had Mexican Pizza shells today! I ordered one (possibly my last) pizza for lunch. And the wonderful prep crew delivered my possibly last pizza all crooked and smooshed against the cardboard container. Ah...youth!

Yeah, my mum loved those. They did away with Taco Salads earlier this year.
My favorite thing at Taco Bell for many years used to be the Chilito (chilli cheese burrito). It was friggin' awesome. It's been gone for a wicked long time though.

Funny thing is, Taco Bell is about as expensive as the sit down Mexican Restaurant a few hundred yards from them, that serves genuine Mexican food. And not much faster either.

I prefer the restaurant (or vendor cart) more authentic Mexican food but it's not always an option vs. Taco Bells being all over the place and open late too.

You are correct though about price. Fast food places have been increasing their prices and gouging people a lot nowadays. Unless you get something from their "deals" menu which frequently ends up being less tasty, less filling, and just less.

Truth

I just went there last week and got dinner for myself and my 2 kids. It cost $30 and change and I didn't even get that much!

Not much gets me royally píssed-off... but gouging the parents trying to afford their kids happy meals is one of them. And people that speed through school zones. I see red when those happen.

I should also mention that they no longer ask if you want hot sauce at the drive through, which I always remember the instant I get home :steamhappy:

Depends on the crew. You should try a different local Taco Bell. I always get asked if I want any sauces and I have them load my bag up. I have a small stockpile of Fire sauce packets.

Also, they actually sell Taco Bell sauces in a small skinny glass container at WalMarts I believe.
Taco Bell is always a bargain if you simply get their loss leader items and nothing else. Those items are typically a dollar each and a medium drink is a dollar if you go between 2-5pm which is "Happier Hour".

The dollar menu items at Taco Bell aren't that filling unless you get a couple bucks worth it seems. Some are actually kinda tasty though like the cheesy melt thing, the beefy fritos thing, and the caramel apple empanada.

*** Say, has anyone seen any paper coupons for Taco Bell of late?
I always find a ton of Burger King coupons but never any Taco Bell. Rarely I'll see some McDonald's, Wendy's, Subway, and Arby's.
They've slowly been getting rid of everything on their menu, it seems like. I feel like eventually you're going to go there and have the option of a regular taco, bean burrito, and that's it.

On the bright side, their online ordering allows for pretty heavy customization of orders, so you can sometimes rebuild old products by changing the contents of another item.

lol - I had the same thought. Who knows? Maybe the future delights Taco Bell corporate have in mind is like a taco-flavored paste inside a tube of toothpastetortilla.
