Church attendance in America is waaaay down among young people. I live in NJ and many young people in my area could not care in the slightest about religion. But its not just my area. Young people have fallen out of religion. At least in the West and Christianity is taking the brunt of it. Islam is still very popular in the middle east. I lived in Thailand and I'd see young Thais attend Buddhist temples all the time.

But in Europe and North America religion, especially Christianity, is in a death spiral. The NONES are rising and it is the most common answer when they are asked what is there religious affiliation. I guess many could be spiritual, but organized religion, especially Christianity, is declining at a very fast rate.

Incorrect, they are as religious as ever. They just have different religions than before. People who ridicule religion, imagining they are so much smarter and more rational, are making fools of themselves.

Growing up Catholic all I can say is that you can’t force religion on people. It doesn’t work.

Year by year organized religions shrink and get replaced with some kind of independent spiritualism.

I’m not Catholic anymore as evidence to that. I follow no organized religion and my spirituality is independently defined.

Religion is a taught thing.

The difference between the US, Europe and those other places l is that in western countries, you aren't pressured to uphold certain religious beliefs. When that is the case, the result is less religious people.

I don't think religion has gone away, god has gone away, but believing in good and evil, and irrational things and irrational morality and in being taken care of by a higher power.

All very, very welll and alive in america, in progressivism. Some like to call progressivism "god swept under the rug" so religion can be in government.

It even has purity tests and virtual signals. And belief systems like how you tier people's importance. And that everyone is a blank slate and one thing can transform into another thing.

And it has its devil/♥♥♥♥♥ which does change, but atm its Trump.

All religions suck, all religions should disappear, and people would have a better life and better mental health.

Some people use spirituality and religion as a mental health aid, or at the least, connect to mental health resources through religious networking.

Sounds like a coping mechanism but that’s just me.
