Why do zoomers embrace censorship?

In college campuses they shout down people they don't like. Online they join fandoms and their main contribution is policing fictional content.

I don't recall a time when people in that age group were so eager and celebratory about open discourse and creativity being suppressed in the name of protecting feelings.

We really failed this generation if we allowed them to think they can shut down speech just because they don't agree with it.

are you sure its just them? across the history of medias there always have been a rich censorship in publicly published medias or outrightly banned that medias from being shown. all generations are the same. its just teenagers today are way more confident to show their real age and trying to join discussions that arent for them. the reason might not be mainly about protecting feelings more like they cant accept different opinions and look into fiction for a moral guidance and the feel to need to win arguement in disguise of fictional characters
