this one time I tried out some Bose headphones that really fit on my head... they might have sounded slightly better than the sony cans I got at walmart.

I had a set of Bose once that felt like wearing nothing but sounded fantastic for sub 100 bucks. Its a shady market now.. crap like Skullcandy and the like.

Whoops, I mentioned Sennheisers, Guess I lost.

The new ones, sure. But the older ones are good, mine which have a metal headband are great because they don't snap after using them for a few years.

Meh. I had a pair back in 2006. They were okay, but nothing mind-blowing like the Sennheiser cult insists they are.

The sound quality was no better than a cheaper pair of Koss closed cans I bought for twenty seven bucks, and it had the crappy, flaking fake leather ear pads and flimsy wire that eventually failed. If that's the peak of Sennheisers, I'm not impressed.

Its not special at all. Airpods and everything else is made in China in advanced facilities as well. Sennheiser is way behind the times and sells their old products on their name along, they haven't been able to advance technology and reduce costs like Elon does with Tesla, they just coast like the other German automakers do as well, over priced badge marketing, rapidly fading. What is the bill of materials on their headphones, there has been nothing special about their manufacturing forever now, its just that they had no competition before because audiophiles are foolish.

Tbf Anderssons brand is probably the lowest you can go in term of pricing. And yes it feel cheap. I would recommend steelseries though.

I jokingly used the term "cult," but, damn, the Sennheiser fanboyism is real and they do not take criticism well.

What can I say, I used a pair off an on for 14 years under light wear (they never once left my home office) so I have lots of experience. They disintegrated like every cheap pair of cans ever made and finally stopped working because of a universal failure I see in every headphone. The sound quality didn't exceed cheaper headphones.

I expect more for that price. If that's high standards, then sue me. This brand-loyalty ♥♥♥♥ is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ embarrassing.

I'm not an audiophile. So here's my view for the ones I have owned:
Cheap 100 TRY AirPods knockoffs: Absolutely awful. One speaker died on me within days.
Sony wired over-ear headphones: Very reliable. Nice bass.
Sony WH-CH510: Same as above but wireless. Great battery life.
JBL Tune 510BT: Great. Beautiful bass. Great battery life.
AirPods Pro 2 (current): Great battery life. Great quality.
Also, mandatory DankPods reference: The Huh Duh Six Hunge-os by ol' mate Senny and the Freakish Ears On A Stand
