personally I always considered a sandwitch "more than 1 filling' but thats for dutch.
so two slices of bread + butter and 1 topping = just what we call a boterham
if it has TWO or more slices or topping.. or has a third slice of bread in between... than it is a sandwich..
-> butter (or margerine) just as sauces.. are seen a condiment.. not a topping.
jelly however is a topping.
but thats a dutch defenition.. after all cumcumber sandwiches are a classic and those contain nothing but butter and cumcumber aka just 1 topping...
Never thought of it before and Yes.
I've learned something today.
than it would be a hot-dog sandwich indeed.
HOT DOG SANDWICH
beat me to it, but i already inveted it so it dont mater.
problem is its a mind ♥♥♥♥.
all the same ingrideints are there, but it doesnt sit right in your stomach. i got so sick
Well that solves that mystery.
and now you can cash in...
give it a nice packaging... printed on brown paper.. like hipsters like..
next use some fancy bread... say frenshly home-baked naturally leavened sourdough whole-grain
(you buy it pre-leaved and frozen only finish the bake at home... but thats not what you tell them)
next you buy organicly sourced, hotdogs, made from free range annimals
(it's still ground down udder and ers and eyes but well they not have to know that)
than you look on your jar of mustard and make up something to sell it like :
french dion mustard
or
locally sourced, traditonally made mustard
same with your catsup (and yes write it like that)
***natural catsup*
and now you can start selling your :
New!
HOT DOG SANDWICH
**the traditional snack, but now made wholesome
WHOLESOME
-instead of a bun, thats full of carbs, we use two slices of our fresh home-baked leavend sourdough whole grain bread.
ORGANIC
-we make sure our hot-dogs are organic and made from free-range annimals
LOCAL
-we only use the finest locally sourced, traditional mustard
NATURAL
-our catsup is all natural
ONLY 29.99!
(and the suckers would buy them in bulk)

I was thinking that a whole loaf of bread is indeed considered a roll in itself.
Mustard sandwiches
pickle sandwiches
anything works really
garlic
it's square.. not roll... (in fact a loaf thats squared instead of classic rounded on top (aka when the tin is baked with a lid on top instead of open).. is called sandwich-bread)
but even if I let that slide.... if you have a loaf of bread... in standard 24 slices.... than actually you get 11 sandwiches out of it.. as well the ends?? those cannot be used to make a sandwich.. that would be improper.
so perhaps the middle slice of a big mac.. if you use 2 of those with something in between... would count as a sandwich..
but NOT the top and bottom of them..
(thoug it does break the rule a sandwich must be diagonally cut)
so you likely still have to cut some pieces off to make it work.
"In the 21st century there has been considerable social media debate over the precise definition of sandwich, and specifically whether a hot dog or open sandwich can be categorized as such"
Really...? CONSIDERABLE debate? This is some serious business!
Wikipedia is not only useless but a bad influence on society as a whole
