Hmm, sounds like they're ignoring deserters and facing reprisals for it then trying to clap some to show fealty. Would have to look at it some more.

Hmm, sounds like they're ignoring deserters and facing reprisals for it then trying to clap some to show fealty. Would have to look at it some more.

I mean, unless the avalanches were caused by some artificial means, probably not. I think the arrests have to do with the terrorist attack that happened in Moscow at a concert a while back. As for the skirmishes at the border, there were skirmishes between Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan as recent as 2022. Granted, that conflict resulted in status quo ante bellum - as in, nothing changed because the results were the same as they were prior to the engagement. One could assume that there might be a history of bad blood given that these are two post-Soviet states and that communists tend to hate other communists more than they do anyone else.

Then again, the same could be said of any other type of ideological zealot.
