Do you think Gamers spend way too much money on Video-Games?
I have spent around 25$ dollars this summer sale and I think it's more than enough. I purchased a few games and I am satisfied. Yearly I'd say I spend 20$ to 50$ on videogames.

But I could NEVER imagine that much cash on purchasing ONE Video-Game. For me the ceiling is 20$ and I already think heavily whether the product is worth it if it's over 5$ bucks.

So I ask you a question: Where is YOUR thin red line? Where do you think it's all okay and normal and when it's just burning the green?

In my, humble opinion Gamers are incredibly irresponsible with their money and that is one of the causes why the gaming is normal. Because people buy ONE, one skin for 20$, ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Fallout 76 has over 20 million players (I know some got the game freely/cheaply and I KNOW I BOUGHT THIS GAME IT WAS A MISTAKE I PURCHASED IT FOR 21,5$ DOLLARS I REGRET IT DEEPLY).

I think it is insane and Gamers should save more for houses and cars.

That is 00.0045 USD per hour

I don't think any form of entertainment can beat that.

farming and butter churning both result in saleable, desirable products.
i used to spend 400-600 euro a year on steam (and before that the same on fysical copies. yes over 5000 euro of purchases on this account.

but with valve abadoning win 7 without removing their drm for games only running on win 7 or older i am so outraged i not will spend another cent on steam.
so should we all!

without respect, we reject!

if thet ignore my posts.. that I must let myself heared with my wallet.

I opposed steam drm being added to my fusical copies to start.
it destroyed the 2d hand market and thats bad for how are you to buy retrogames in future aka copies since pulled from the store?

but now by dropping os support for the drm layer that is steam without the promised fix EVERY game you own will one day become unplayable..

thats such gross disrepect for the art of gaming and such distepect for paying customers..

and mind you this is on TOP of steam having removed our 30 day right of refund without any limit on howmany hours played and our right to unlimited lend out our games to others without '
"1 user per account" aka if i used to own 1000 games I could lend out 999 and all 1000 coulf be played at the same timme 1 active player PER GAME.
with steam if you own 1000 games its either you OR 1 of your friends thatcan play aka only 1 active player PER ACCOUNT

that ♥♥♥♥ was already bad enough but dropping win 7 support without any effort is the obe push to far

nobody NOBODY should still buy games on steam.

not a cent!

Currently spent around $20 so far this year.
it just depends
yes.... my cousin and his kids jump games so often... buying new games all the time. I try to play with them but I'm not spending more than 20 bucks a month on games and so usually cant keep up.

Given how predatory MTX's among many other anti-consumer tactics has been getting over the decades, I say yes in the case of the "whales" / walking open wallets. However in regards to average "gamer" it does depend if they still "buy" hype and pre-order stuff among other shenaningans.

Me personally I nowadays only buy games during sales, exception being indie games which most of the time i prefer to pay full price if the dev team is trust worthy, and doesn't do the anti-consumer tactics most AAA devs do in the current market. Have been many years since the last time i've buy an AAA game remotely close to full price.

are you suggesting a disabled retired old man go back out into the fields?

that does not sound like any form of entertainment to me

I'd rather be creative and have fun

If you spend all your time making money you will never have time to enjoy the benefits you should be getting from it.

Isn't that what is out of balance today?

No I think people spend too much on ♥♥♥♥♥♥ vacations to places like Hawaii or some hot island resorts. Those places are ♥♥♥♥♥♥, go to some place cooler already, getting tans is a meme.

well I just responded to the surface level words you said, without total knowledge of your life.

farming and butter churning have a positive cost/entertainment ratio.
