my guitar strings broke.. I bought new ones, then they broke again..
Is there something genuinely wrong with the strings that I ordered (D'adarrio) or is it my guitar? I decided to use my spare ernie ball strings along with d'addario, but I'm worried that they're gonna break again, especially since they're my last set. Is there anything I can do to make sure that they dont break again?

how tight are you tuning them? guitar strings usually don't break until months of use.

i'd also make sure you're not tuning / detuning too quickly, since that's usually when stuff starts snapping (for me at least)

they were pretty tight, I'm pretty sure that was the reason as to why they broke, but at the same time, it was way lower than what its supposed to be tuned to

yeah, I admit I did kinda tune and detune too fast, which has snapped a few strings for me in the past

make sure you're restringing everything correctly too. give the strings a little slack before tuning.

If you're a Limp Bizkit fan it shouldn't matter; you're obviously already tone deaf. :steammocking:

I'm just giving you ♥♥♥♥. :P
While I am not a fan of theirs, Wes Borland is a great player.

some strings can have manufacturer defects, yes.

the main tell for me was if the string falls out of tune. best way for me to tell was tune at the start and at the finish of the session. if it was out of tune, its time to replace it, since its losing material strength. i use steel nickel / steel copper plated strings btw.

How many wraps around the posts are you doing?
Where did they break? At the saddle? At the tuner? In the middle?
