Why should I spend money on something that not only doesnt care about me but mistreats me?
and its our patriotic duty to speak up about injustice... after all, maybe some people (as shown above) do not yet know what is being done to them. I only hope those above, who expressed they dont know, go out and search around the forum to better understand what all steam has been doing.
I hate to be the one to tell you this (well, actually not really), but no business actually really cares about you.
Who is "our" exactly...? And patriotic duty? Lmao. Anyway, I don't see anything being done to me. I admit I have only been on Steam for less than a year, but so far my experience with Steam isn't anything exceptional, both for positive and negative. But as software to launch and play some PC games, it does the job and actually has a lot of features I really like and my experiences with their customer support has been okay.
But maybe it's hard to me to feel like I'm an abused housewife since I don't delude myself into thinking I have any relationship with a corporation providing a product to me.
lies... by using their service you cost them money.. they need to run their servers....
while they no longer profit of you.
don't just don't... go to gog.. buy something nice there
you never will own arma3 as it is a steam exclusive so it will never come to GoG..
but I am sure that GoG has plenty of nice drm free games to satisfy you.
You should not purchase any product, or use any service, by a company if you feel that way. NO company cares about you, they all pretend it.
And patriotic duty? Sorry, I'm not American, I don't care about patriotism.
Never answer to steam for your gaming again (with exception to stuff you already bought).
You're labelling something as 'unjust' and asking your readers if they're with you or against you. that's about camps.
steam mistreats you? how?
-offering you unlimited free fast downloads of your entire library?
-keeping your entire library ready for you whenever you decide to come back?
-allowing indie devs (yourself included) to learn a programming language, take a fun game concept, and take a crack at listing it on steam?
-offering deeply discounted sales many times a year?
-no paid subscription
-no forced advertisements inside the application?
what more do you expect steam to do, dude? its a store for games that also lets you talk about the games. by gamers, for gamers. it doesn't get better than this.
if you think it does, and execute the idea, you're about to become a billionaire.
Even if Steam gets their 30% cut at the top end, what is that? Oh no, a whopping 90 cents USD. Pretty sure Bohemia Interactive is probably operating at a different cut anyway.
As soon as you download the game, Steam is probably losing money on that deal.
Cool story, kthnxbai.
Just looked, no they arent.... even on my favorite third grey site they arent available for cheap.
Is that what I said, funny... doesnt look like its what I said. When and where did I ever ask someone if they are for or against?
anyways, no, thats still not camps. Saying something is unjust is just saying something is unjust. you can read into that however you want, but its on you when you add more words to something.
bro, you cant even be bothered to read a few posts above. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ im instantly done replying to you. blocking and moving on because just wow.
Id probably buy several of their dlc, I hate incomplete games that require additional purchases to have the whole game but arma 3 is one of the very few that actually looks worth its money (i've been watching operator drewski)
but just the core game... you have a solid point.
Yeah, when I was looking at it, was thinking of grabbing the game with all the DLC and everything too, and do share similar sentiments. But Arma 3 goes on sale fairly often and even on Steam, I think the DLC has been cheaper. I was thinking of just grabbing the base game for now, see how it is and then maybe grab the DLC in a later sale if it seems worthwhile.
Edit: Also, Arma has had a few bundles on Humble over the years. Wouldn't be surprised if another bundle with a bunch of DLC popped up again in the future there.
Bandwidth costs are negligible. When I had my low-cost website through GoDaddy about 20 years ago, it was about 72 bucks a year and I received 500 GB of bandwidth per month. The amount of data the average user is consuming from Valve is nothing, given that Valve probably purchases petabytes of data at a time, with massive data pipes through a internet backbone provider. As long as a significant number of users keep buying games, Valve isn't going bankrupt anytime soon
