Beyond that there's like Interstellar (2014) and that's it.
Afterwards there hasn't been a good movie in ages.
How do you feel about The Departed (2006) ?
You have not watched Time Bandits have you?
Don't know if I would do 'full' reviews even though some choice movies there.
Titanic : Very good, wanted to hate it because of all the hype. Started liking it at the card game at the beginning.
Truman Show : Brilliant film, makes me little emotional when he 'realises' in the street and that music kicks in.
Gladiator : Historical accuracy? nah. Great film to sit down and get manly about? Yes!
LOTR : liked the trilogy some bits left out and changed from the books and still pulls it off.
Could have done with the orcs not sounding like working class Brits though.
Amelie : not seen.
A Beautiful Mind : not seen.
V for Vendetta : Never heard of V for Vendetta before the film came out. So could enjoy it without comparing it to anything else. A good choice for the anarchic.
Master and Commander : Makes me wish they would do Hornblower to this level of quality and do the whole series.
The Last Samurai : A good performance from Tom Cruise, some roles its about Tom Cruise other roles its the character and this is one 'its about the character' and he does it really well.

Long short or medium or just whether you just liked it or not.
Historical inaccuracies are prevalent, but it's not trying to be a historical documentary. Most of the characters are loosely based on historical figures, rather than trying to directly depict specific individuals.
Now for the good part, spoilers ahead.
The Last Samurai's plot and character development is the highlight of this film. At first glance, it may look like another 'white savior' action movie where some caucasian man appears to save the day. But it couldn't be further from that.
The main character is a man haunted by guilt. He was an ex-American soldier who committed atrocities on the Native American tribes. Drove himself to alcoholism in an attempt to drown out the memories of him attacking non-combatants, under orders from his superior officer.
He simply didn't have the spine at the time to defy his orders. He could not bring himself to act on what he truly thought was right.
But in an ironic twist of fate, he was recruited by this same superior officer years later to fight yet another indigenous population, this time in Japan. And he couldn't refuse because he needed the money.
Later in the story, he was eventually captured by the samurai.
As a captive, he couldn't indulge himself in alcohol and had to face the his inner demons directly. This paired with his observations of japanese culture which cultivated respect eventually led him to go 'native.' He made genuine friends with the samurai village over the winter.
Further on, the main character had an opportunity to go back to his original side, the government that opposed the Samurai. It was the much safer option and possessed the overwhelming advantage. He knew the Samurai would lose the war.
And yet he sided with the Samurai anyways. The main character had finally overcome his inner demons and is acting out what he truly felt. Acting how he should have during the war with the Native American indians. Thus he fought with and witnessed the fall of the last Samurai.
Great film with many scenes of emotional sincerity which I feel is so lacking in modern movies.
For example, Die Hard III, Terminator, Indiana Jones, Matrix (1st one), Gladiator, iconic Wild West movies from 50s, 60s and 70s,.... etc.

"Edge of Tomorrow" is, IMO, one of the best, pure, "Science Fiction" movies to come out in over a decade... or longer. (Well, a couple of decades, now. :))
Say what one will about Cruise, but he only signs on with good movies, science-fiction especially. (I really think all the sci-fi movies he's been in are good, solid, science-fiction stories.)
