Hard floors or carpet?

I like a nice hardwood floor. Carpet just seems... perpetually dirty.

Hard wood with a nice soft, light, short-pile accent rug. It's not always best to have nothing but slick hardwood floors. For obvious reasons.

Hard floor is "nicer" and easier to clean. Carpet dulls noise and makes a room feel more private, not to mention comfortable.

switched from wood to carpet recently much nicer on the feets with it, but it is harder to keep clean

Hardwood, as someone who has basically everything carpet, other then the bathroom and kitchen, ill tell you carpet is disgusting. No matter how clean you try and keep it

alot of things NEVER come out of carpet.
also it's not even much cheaper then hardwood (if at all tbh)

i'd trade out the carpet in a heartbeat if my landlord would let me
