Best mouse to get for gaming/office work?
I've been wanting to get a new gaming mouse but also have it work for office types of tasks as well. My friend owns a Glorious Model O gaming mouse and he uses it with regular daily tasks on his PC and I've wanted to get a Logitech MX Master 3S because of the ergonomic design and also because it has a metal scroll wheel which means it won't be worn out after long-term use unlike a rubber/plastic scroll wheel. On top of that, it's wireless and you plug it in to charge, which is also something I'm looking for. Only thing that might be an issue that's keeping me from purchasing it is that it's apparently slightly heavier than a regular gaming mouse and it might make it difficult for quick precision.

Either way, I'm having a tough time deciding. So I would like to know if anyone could give me a good recommendation or tell me what type of mouse you're using?

I am a fan of the Razer Naga Pro and seemingly the Logitech G602.

The Razer is good because it has a removable face plate for two, six, and 10-button layouts.

Logitech is good because it has six buttons and is very durable but to get the app to run you might have to use Task Scheduling and the Razer app can also malfunction.

I would not, and did not, pay full price for either as they are pretty expensive.

But, I am a fan of multiple customization of buttons and the Logitech can switch modes plus has on-board memory for traveling.

The Razer is rechargeable or wired, that Logitech is wireless but I use Ni-MH batteries work fine and this thing only uses one battery but can hold two batteries (one for backup).

That is my 2 cents.:magic_wand::gold_coin::gold_coin:

I've hated my logitech g502 forever now... but I've yet to find anything better and am pretty sure all mice are just designed for children or people with tiny hands or are just massive hunks of junk...

logitech works tho... anyone I've ever asked about their mice say they use logitech... it works.

I'd stay away from wireless mice tho... I tried them a couple times and they're always cutting out or dying on you. just stick with basic wired, the wire isn't that big of a deal compared to the grief that wireless is...

I just have a humble Logitech M100. Works just fine.
So I'm reading that most people here use a Logitech-type mouse. I wish I could setup a poll to see what brand of mouse everyone uses.
I used to use that Microsoft "Blue" USB/PS2 Laser Mouse. It had a great scroll wheel and traction. Then they stopped selling it around here. I consider my Logitech a slight downgrade, but its still "good". (Also I ruined 3 mice using them simultaneously for Clicker Heroes)

You would adore the Logitech G603 wireless mouse as it is very responsive and only takes one battery and has another for backup. The downfall is when using Bluetooth that eats up batteries but Wi-Fi is very lightweight.
For office work like Excell or Microsoft word I go with the "Corsair Scimitar Pro RBG Optical Mouse" With 14+ programmable buttons it really makes a breeze out of copy, cut and paste.

For my gaming sessions I go with the super minimalist "Logitec Pebble mouse 2 M350s" With it's super lightweight design I never worry about carpal tunnel due to the weight or resistance of my mouse during 15+ hour gaming sessions.

For everything else I'm just full of ♥♥♥♥.

Having to replace double A batteries for me is a deal breaker, so that's out of the question.
Only wired or wireless mice with a charging cable is what I'm looking for.

Remember that internal Lithium-ion batteries also wear out and possibly cannot be replaced.

You can also use rechargeable Ni-MH and Li-Ion in the Logitech.

Just FYI.

Also remember any solar equipment outdoors should be using Li-Ion batteries and not Ni-MH, such as solar lamps - they last for longer per hours of solar recharge usage.:magic_wand::stars:

I don't see why I'd want that when I have a mouse that always works and doesn't need to have things replaced... tho I can see why the marketing department would push you to buy something that requires things to be replaced.
My german copy-paste, use DeepL for transaltion if you like ^^

But after how many years of use, tho?
Most controllers I own contain some form of lithium battery and they still work fine.

The thing is you would need to replace the mouse feet when you replace the internal Lio-ion batteries. So remember to get mouse feet and a plastic key.

But as long as you do NOT drain the Li-Ion battery to zero, should be fine.

The only reason I use Ni-MH over Li-ion is for safety reasons in recharging.

You may ask how long do the Li-ion batteries last?

Thank you for asking, 4 - 6 months of 18 hours of daily usage while the Ni-MH will only go one month or two.
