The person up in the posts must not know how to take care of their stuff. Razer makes great products.
It should be fairly cheap, too.
In 2015 or so, it was around $60.
The most common faults are sensor wearing itself out, or the mouse wheel not responding anymore.
The mouse needs about a weekly air cleaning to keep the wheel usable, otherwise it's gonna work rather poorly.
Back in 2014, it was all about Razer and Logitech, with..
- Logitech having the best sensors, lasting years, but the delay making it a bit worse for gaming at the top levels;
- Razer having nearly the best sensors, but overall featuring better performances than Logitech.. At the cost of lasting about a year or two..
So, as you mighta have guessed, most people have opted out for Logitech, besides those who could afford and were willing to bother searching for another one each year.
If I shall recommend, it'd be between Logitech G402 and G502, up to personal preferences.
I'd say two years is a good lifetime, provided that you use the mouse every day.
I'd recommend the Razer Naga V2 Pro, from my own experience.
So far it's still very much alive and fully functional, I use the 12-button sidepiece.
Plenty of extra buttons and it's symmetrical which is quite important for a leftie gamer like me. Most gaming mice feature the extra buttons on the wrong side for me. Not much to choose from when symmetrical/left handed setups come into play.
Logitech is alright. The price is acceptable and my G403 has lasted a few years now (although the left click is very subtly starting to act up).
I would avoid Razer completely. Garbage quality for the price. I've had a few mice and a keyboard and they all died out on me after only a few (1-3) years. Meanwhile I have some old generic Dell keyboard/mouse from 10-20 years ago that still works flawlessly.
Roughly six months now... I believe... but I don't use it much, let alone every day due to being too busy with work.
Except on the weekends.
I use the 12-button sidepiece.
