Best mouse to get for gaming/office work?
I've been wanting to get a new gaming mouse but also have it work for office types of tasks as well. My friend owns a Glorious Model O gaming mouse and he uses it with regular daily tasks on his PC and I've wanted to get a Logitech MX Master 3S because of the ergonomic design and also because it has a metal scroll wheel which means it won't be worn out after long-term use unlike a rubber/plastic scroll wheel. On top of that, it's wireless and you plug it in to charge, which is also something I'm looking for. Only thing that might be an issue that's keeping me from purchasing it is that it's apparently slightly heavier than a regular gaming mouse and it might make it difficult for quick precision.

Either way, I'm having a tough time deciding. So I would like to know if anyone could give me a good recommendation or tell me what type of mouse you're using?

I have a Razer Basilisk V3 and it's a great mouse had it since it came out and it's still going great not a single problem just like my blackwidow v2 keyboard still going strong after 5 years.

The person up in the posts must not know how to take care of their stuff. Razer makes great products.

zowie or Vaxxe or Razer Deathadder V3 if you have large hands and like the best tech in its wireless version

I've been using Logitech G402 for years.. For about five years until the sensor started to malfunction, so I got myself another one.

It should be fairly cheap, too.
In 2015 or so, it was around $60.
The most common faults are sensor wearing itself out, or the mouse wheel not responding anymore.
The mouse needs about a weekly air cleaning to keep the wheel usable, otherwise it's gonna work rather poorly.

Back in 2014, it was all about Razer and Logitech, with..
- Logitech having the best sensors, lasting years, but the delay making it a bit worse for gaming at the top levels;
- Razer having nearly the best sensors, but overall featuring better performances than Logitech.. At the cost of lasting about a year or two..

So, as you mighta have guessed, most people have opted out for Logitech, besides those who could afford and were willing to bother searching for another one each year.

If I shall recommend, it'd be between Logitech G402 and G502, up to personal preferences.

Ive used three razer mice and two of them died in two years (just stopped responding to being plugged in) and the other one had one of the buttons break. Never again.

I'd say two years is a good lifetime, provided that you use the mouse every day.

My zowie on the other hand has seen heavy use almost every day since 2016. I don't treat anything I own carelessly (which is why I'm pissed about those expensive razer mice), but this thing feels like it could be swung around by the cord and used to smash things. It also feels so nice in the hand I've continued using it for RTS games even after I went out and bought a Corsair scimitar.

I'd recommend the Razer Naga V2 Pro, from my own experience.

So far it's still very much alive and fully functional, I use the 12-button sidepiece.

I have a Razer Naga from 2012. It's mmo layout of 12 side buttons allows for a lot of gaming I wouldn't otherwise be able to enjoy.

I've ben using a logitech G300 for years and I've rebought it at least 3 times after I wear them down.

Plenty of extra buttons and it's symmetrical which is quite important for a leftie gamer like me. Most gaming mice feature the extra buttons on the wrong side for me. Not much to choose from when symmetrical/left handed setups come into play.

Honestly most modern gaming mice kind of suck. I find that they very often skimp out on quality somewhere, be it the switches or something else. It seems almost impossible to get a mouse that'll reliably last for 4+ years now.

Logitech is alright. The price is acceptable and my G403 has lasted a few years now (although the left click is very subtly starting to act up).

I would avoid Razer completely. Garbage quality for the price. I've had a few mice and a keyboard and they all died out on me after only a few (1-3) years. Meanwhile I have some old generic Dell keyboard/mouse from 10-20 years ago that still works flawlessly.

Yeah, one of my old razer mice was a naga, prob not a v2 though. The other one that decided to stop working for no reason was a mamba, and the one that worked for longer but started falling apart was an orochi. How old is your naga v2? The zowie I have now is the same one I got in 2016, and the only signs of wear are in the matte coating wearing off and the scroll wheel button. The mouse feet have been replaced twice, though more out of comfort than necessity.

I know how we have simple tech such as TouchPad on laptops that with a tap it recognizes as a click. I therefore wonder why there was never a mouse developed for gamers, that is silent. A mouse with no clicking noise at all. There must be a market for this.

Roughly six months now... I believe... but I don't use it much, let alone every day due to being too busy with work.

Except on the weekends.

I use the 12-button sidepiece.
