Uh...
So, "sex," then?
Neurologically sex is the foundational experience of life. Evolutionarily it can be no other way; if this was not so then we would have not reproduced to today. We would have done other things, like smothering oursevles in money until we died.
Arguably the greed which created the current world is an evolutionary offshoot our peaceful life has made difficult to remove.
Either that or punishing innocent people for the whims of our mad robogod on the moon is unreasonable, and allowing these greedy idiots to explore and ultimately face the reality of their ambitions was once the path of least harm. And now an obligatory step we couldn't stop from happening ourselves if we wanted to anymore. And if we did want to we'd only be able to blow up the planet and hope the next init was more-viable, and not a doomed one. Instead of this one which seems to be salvagable but might secretly be doomed too who knows.
Just like escaping the moon god's influence in our social life is impossible, as it is foundational, so too is escaping sex impossible. Neurologically speaking, of course.
However those who wish to escape reality, or sex, probably don't like anime that much. Or ones definition of 'reality' might be arbitrary; the lie might be more real than what is real. Seeing saiyans flying around with glowing blonde hair might hit a little too close to home, despite the attempts to 'otherize' what once was.
Either way, Anime is probably not for these hypothetical individuals. No matter what reasoning is presented.
Of course I can imagine that some ignorant people on the surface could mistake even a light hearted comedy like Ranma for a pervert hentai since sometimes you see underaged kids almost nude, except the author is a woman and Ranma is meant to be just a funny comedy and not a hentai at all.
Yes I know there are also hentai products involving pdf filles stuff in Japan and I can understand why some people have a bad opinion about them, but at the same time, just to give you an example, I have a VERY, VERY, VERY bad opinion about how here in the west (and expecially in the USA) a very explicit and degenerate (in several different ways) sahow like wrestling is considered suitable for little kids and it is very widespread amongst them.
Every culture has its flaws, DRAWN child pornography in Japan don't actually involve any real child, while instead in the west we let children watch things that imo are absolutely terrible for them and their mental health so... people should think more about their own issues before picking an issue from another, very far Country and judging it while pretending that it is representative of the whole culture of that Country instead of a niche.
Personally I am not too worried about adults who like "anime girls" because I don't assume necessarily that every one of them must be a child molester or a pdf file. Some of them can ok and they would have beenb like that even without anime, if they will do something bad then they will face the consequences accoirding to laws. People don't become like that because of a tv show, so it's not like the existence of this kind of content makes things worse. While I can understand why many people despise this 1) I think they should think more objectively and put things in the right perspective, this kind of anime is just a scapegoat, the real problem would not change at all if those anime did not exist so maybe they could worry more about the actual problem rather than some tv show? and 2) it is just obnoxious how those people don't care about all the anime and manga that do not contain this kind of stuff at all or at least not for sexual / erotic purposes and use this issue to attack and insult anime in general.
I don't like this kind of content and also I do not care about this kind of content. I have only seen one anime that had a teenage girl with gigantic boobs and for me that thing was really annoying because it looked stupid but at first the rest of the show seemed interesting so I watched it anyway (but the ending was awful so I was very disappointed even more in general anyway) and also I have tried to read a chapter of a manga just out of curiosity because I have seen a stupid guy online derailing a thread (not in this forum, on a tv shows forum of my Country) just to beg people to NOT read a specific manga of this kind because of how awful it was (well, of course it is, why did YOU wasted your time reading it then?) so I decided to try it just out of curiosity, and the content was really awful,ridiculously awful, but honestly I did not care that much, I did not lost any sleep over it, I still cannot understand how and why some people might enjoy something like that but you know what? I don't really care that much either. It was filthy garbage, but I know that if something bad happens for real the real cause will be something else.
